Woulda thought someone would've thrown together fanart of the uniforms by now. By this time in ENT's development, we had 98% accurate fanart based on just second hand text descriptions.
It looks like they may have tweaked the ship design a bit, but I still don't care for the McQuarrie-prise look.
We saw other costumes. And huge sets. The fact that they're building huge physical sets, rather than CGI green screen rooms, is promising. Plus they're ignoring the hideously tacky uniforms from The Cage and the TOS era in general.
But they unfortunately seem to be copying the Enterprise-era uniforms. Say what you will about the JJ Abrams movies, at least they did a nice update on the TOS uniforms.
Ironically one of the few things that actually resembled what they were based on. Well, for the men, at least. The women actually lost sleeves and therefore their ability to display their rank.
I do like the JJ Abrams uniforms. But I think I liked the ENT and TOS-Movie uniforms much better. Both sets of uniforms looked much nicer and more practical, as if they were consciously designed by the organization which was going to use them, or evolved from modern concepts of military uniforms (rather than being designed by costume designers working on a TV show).
Are you the one that bitches and moans about the engine support pylons on the original Enterprise? Ignoring the fact that they are the same size ratio of those on the Enterprise-D, and E.
Sorry. I thought you were the idiot who compared the original Enterprise engine support pylons to popsickle sticks. My apologies.
Not uniforms, but here's some nerds fapping themselves over the wireframe ship design we see in the teaser, and speculating about the final design.
I watched one when the guy who's making Pacific 201, which looks great, was on and it just dragged on.
This show is just not looking good. If those are Klingons, they look ridiculous. I wonder if maybe they're trying to tie in the genetic alteration from Enterprise?
Nope, actual fucking Klingons. A FB friend of mine works for Bad Robot and says they've been getting hate mail for it, despite having nothing to do with it I gotta say, I hope the show does well, but my enthusiasm is waning.
Remember that old saying "if you keep pickin at it, it'll never heal". ? The stuff about Star Trek: Discovery reminds me of that. It seems they started with a reasonably good concept. But the more stuff they want to do regarding the series, the worse and worse it seems to be getting.
The thing is CBS has been promoting All Access a lot lately, but nothing about Trek. They're setting it up for failure.
