I dunno how I feel about that. I think a series would have a very hard time living up to the awesomeness of that film.

If they do the series with a bunch of actors mimicking the performances of the original film's stars, it's going to suck.

If they do the series with a new interpretation of everything, it may not be good.

I'd love to see a GalaxyQuest series done right, but that's going to be tough.

One of the execs worked on Breaking Bad, so it has potential. It'll be interesting to see who the cast is, and if they can get any of the actors from the film to make cameos. Justin Long could probably use the work.

Yeah. There's a whole bunch of reasons this could turn extremely ugly. I do not have high hopes. But, I thought it was worth it alone to get a few hearts pounding. :ramen:

    What might have been. :(
David Warner's still working. He's older than Rickman by a few years, but they sound a lot alike, so he could work, IMHO.

There's a short story that's similar to the idea of Galaxy Quest. During the shooting of an episode TOS, Leonard Nimoy is on the transporter set, standing on a transporter pad. He gets beamed aboard the Enterprise. The crew doesn't realize it, but he catches on soon. One of the things he first notices is that the transporter room has a ceiling, not the studio lights and ceiling.

The crew of the Enterprise is trying to save the inhabitants of a coastal settlement. Nimoy notices that there are tides on the planet that are influenced by a natural satellite. He grew up in Boston, and was familiar with the tide pattern. By then, Nimoy had revealed himself to the crew of the Enterprise. The crew were able to use this information and locate a cloaked moon orbiting the planet. Scotty was able to figure out a way to return Nimoy to the studio set and Spock to the Enterprise.

Can you post the name of the book? I haven't read that book in 30+ years and can't remember the name of the book.

Speaking with GQ, Sam Rockwell suggested Simon Pegg may “help out” with a Galaxy Quest limited series.

If there was a sequel to Galaxy Quest, we would be on it. We talked about it maybe like a limited series, yeah. Simon Pegg talked about helping out with it, actually.

Unless you literally have him playing himself, and having him constantly dealing with fans asking about his previous roles while he is trying to publicise this one.

They just keep getting my hopes up about a Galaxy Quest series. I mean, this is just as cruel as telling me that Firefly could return as a new series any day.
