Remember ow they always worried they would over-saturate the demand for Star Trek andfolks would get exhausted with it? I'm getting their with Star Wars.

The idea that they are tying Mandalorian and Asoka and Boba Fett and maybe Obi-Wan (Rebels?) together in a grand narrative holds SOME interest

But going back to before the "first" (in continuity time) movie for something completely unrelated to the others it's just - Star Wars hasn't ever demonstrated the range of storytelling for that much content.

They went back 5000 and 4000 years in the comics, and those were popular.

smaller audience scale. You'd have a harder time getting viewers to tune into a show without the preexisting love for characters

I've said it before, Filloni has successfully stolen SW from the Skywalkers and made Ahsoka the centre of that universe via Clone Wars... maybe the mortar between the bricks would be more accurate?

    Trailer.

    6 episodes.
3 about Young Qui-Gon and younger Dooku.
    3 about young Ahsoka.

They're using the logo from the graphic novels.

Was this made in the 90s? Or has animation not improved in the last quarter century?

    I like the chronological sequence

Was that Morai overhead when Ahsoka was born?

Found myself counting just how many hours that test took based on how many times Anakin says "again". Justifies why she's so good.

    Ashla was a great alias

Dooku story was pretty good too. Poor Yaddle! Bugged me that she spoke normally though.

Ian McDiarmid sounded like twenty hadn't passed. The other voice actors sounded great too.

Not exactly how things played out in the book, but essentially, yea, that’s what happened. And since it was only supposed to be those 3 episodes, I’m glad they showed Anikan’s test. It explained Rex’s statement just before their escape after order 66. The writers will take any throw-away line and make it mean something.

I did think it was weird that Caleb Dume was the only Palawan to “get” to see Ashoka’s test. You would think the entire class would see it. But, why didn’t Kanan say anything or appear to know her in Rebels? I always figured that the two had a large enough age difference (4 or 6 years) that they wouldn’t have been in the same Jedi classes. Caleb at the beginning of Bad Batch appears to be about 14 and we know Ashoka is closer to 19 or 20 at that same time. In this episode, it could be assumed they are only about two years apart.

wookiepedia says he's born 33bby, which makes him a year older than Ahsoka. that'd make them 28 and 27 during Rebels S1/5bby

you're right though... he really didn't react to seeing her like you'd expect, especially if you consider that as roughly the same age, they might have been testing that same day. You think you'd remember the kid who nailed it before you went up.
Even without this future plan for an easter egg, it just makes sense they would've been at least in the same youngling cohort.

Really? That makes even less sense? He’s definitely not 20ish in BB season 1 episode 1

What I liked about this as was is Asoka is concerned , is this. Anakin trained her too well. He ended up training her to escape Order 66, something he helped bring about. That’s pretty powerful story telling, IMO. Just think if Lucas would have thought this back in the day and Luke would have been Vader’s apprentice that escaped.

    nope.. he should be 12/13

my bad though... AHsoka is canonically born in 36 (not 32) bby. so she's a class or two ahead of him.

Does he look 14 or even 20ish in Rebels? Is he supposed to be either.

    The first episode of BB. He's a kid/padawan. That's what I mean.

Yes, occasionally I make typos. But, please read what I'm saying before attempting to point out a flaw.

ok. Wookiepedia says they're 3 years difference - Ashoka born 36 BBY and Kanan born 33 BBY. Making Ashoka 17 at Order 66 and Kanan 14. That more aligns with what I thought previously.. That just leaves, what year was the test in episode 5? Kanan looks the same as he did in BB season 1 and Ahsoka looks like she did in earlier seasons of Clone Wars.

Wookiepedia is calling it at 22BBY, which'd fit with her outfit and the clones beign in phase 1 armor

All of these were really good, except Ep. 3 which was boring. The backstories of Count Dooku and Ahsoka Tano feature prominently.
