So this is a thread where I am going to put some cool amv's that I find. Feel free to contribute your own discoveries.
I have specific frequency hearing loss, thus I could not understand the vocals in this song. I need the vocals to be very prominent/strong in the mix or I can't understand the words - sorry!
this is maybe my favorite mash-up AMV featuring anime content Though this one works so well that for a while I thought it was the actual official video to the song and DBZ fans might like this
We were on the LZ, on New Year's Eve. Armed Forces Radio was counting down the top hits of 1969. They played the Beatles and the Fifth Dimension. What was left? The #1 song was something we had never heard before
I was in grade school when this song came out. Some brand of breakfast cereal had an actual playable cardboard single you cut off the back of the box. The B side of the record was "Melody Hill". Damn now I feel very old. http://www.mrbreakfast.com/list.asp?id=5
One of the reasons I want to go to anime japan. It is because you can get drunk on sake, end up in a forest, and make friends with a dragon who agrees to be your maid for a place to stay in this world.
I guess I should say something about this group because it is from the best AMV maker I have ever seen. Her videos are always interesting and her choice of music and the series she works with are some of the best. She goes by chicaboom and not since dokidoki productions have I seen so many amazing videos by one person. There is a depth to her videos in character that is amazing and consistent. If you see one of her videos and are interested in the series it is a good bet that you should watch the series because she has captured some of it's essence in her production. Devil;s game is a perfect deflection of the modoka Series up to rebellion, and blight is rebellion. Some spoilers visually, but it does not ruin a lot of the plot and revelations, which is what a good AMV does. Blight just shows how integrated chicaboom's symbolism and use is right along with the modoka creators. The alterations in time and speed of the video to correspond to the rhythm of the songs are intricate and well done. Anime lends so much more to a serious creative work because it respects art styles have language. In modoka the use of French and feminine styles shows where you are. The ending and reason of modoka rebellion is so obvious and yet so unseen at the same time before the revelation because of the background imagery.
Then I guess chikaboom got introduced to the precure anime grouping. Precure is a different magical girl grouping where the precure group contains about seven or more different enclosed series in a similar universe. So each time a new series begins you are introduced to a new group of magical girls. I think there is a universe that contains them all on different worlds. I still have yet to see it fully, and am delayed by it's American hack dub known as glitter force. Deadly and gorgeous captures the trippy colors and energy well. Chicaboom does a number of curved time changes which correspond nicely to the music. In doki doki morning she uses some of the movie footage which mixes the different groups of girls.
