Democrats wouldn't raid the capitol building. They're in favor of negative peace and order, regardless of who's in office. That's why they mock people on Saturday Night Live, and say "tRUMP" rather than burn down police buildings, which is a shame.

None of my fist-shakey atheist stuff from 2007-2012 was either, but how did that go over?

Amaris has helped me put things into perspective: no matter what ideas Biden has (what executive orders he signs) he still has to go through the process like any other president.
As long as the Democrats stay pissed off at each other they will never come together on anything that can fuck up the country too badly. Damn the U.S. just gets more awesome every fucking day! :salute:

The truth is the truth, regardless. @14thDoctor called it irrational hatred. My issues with Joe Biden are entirely rational, and based on things that he did which I consider awful. To dismiss them simply because he doesn't find them as heinous, that's his prerogative, but it doesn't make what Biden did right, or excusable.

Joe Biden isn't even good. Joe Biden is more of the same oppression that held back black people, the poor, immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community, and Indigenous peoples for generations. That he tries to say the right things now doesn't change his legislative legacy. He is, at the very least, partially responsible for why we're here. You might feel some of that legislation should you ever have to file for bankruptcy and find that you can't, despite having nothing left to your name, as one example.

It's called "politics," Sweetie. Tell me Bernie never swallowed his revulsion to reach across the aisle for the good of the American people, not his precious feelings.

Why would I tell you something that wouldn't be true? Bernie gives in to the Democratic party all of the time, unfortunately. The problem is that Bernie has the privilege to swallow his revulsion and work with the people who maintain the status quo. Bernie will always be okay in the end, it's the people who get left behind who have to worry.

So, here's a challenge: Design your perfect politician - superior intellect, dazzling charisma, impeccable dress sense (points to whomever gets the reference) as well as as spiritually pure as Gandhi or Mother Teresa (neither of whom were all that pure if you look at history) and sufficiently savvy in the ways of mankind to outfox the evildoers and create a perfect system.

Or, since you're convinced no one else can do the job, how soon can you run for office? And if you can't, what else can you do besides telling the rest of us how easily we accept the flawed but well-intentioned?

There is no such thing as a perfect politician, nor have I demanded one. I do find it interesting that you believe Joe Biden to be "flawed but well-intentioned," considering his legislative history that has penalized black folks, and the poor more than anyone else. Joe Biden is the definition of white order and negative peace.

You forget, and it's in my user tag, that I'm a communist. Electoral politics are a boondoggle as far as I'm concerned. Democrats create a ratchet effect that let Republicans move right, but then prevent anyone from moving left again. 40 years ago, liberals were FDR Democrats. Now they're Reagan Democrats. What next? Mitt Romney Democrats? Lindsay Graham Democrats? What good are liberals who make way for GOP bullying, and then prevent anyone from truly addressing the material deficits against the oppressed that those bullies create? The Democrats are nothing but controlled opposition, and since they make bank off of that, the established administrations, Republican or Democrat, are more than happy to continue bailing out banks, waging wars, and pushing back against workers.

    The Republicans are fascists.
    The Democrats enable them.

    What do they offer?
    Negative peace.
    Order.

All in the name of white institutionalism, which is the bedrock of this country.

That is all the Democrats offer, and MLK, Malcolm X, James Baldwin, Kwame Ture, Angela Davis, and others warned us about that, because there is no breaking of oppression, there is no intersectional discourse, no freedom, no equity, if we don't start with black and indigenous liberation. Until we can see it from that context, from that perspective, until we start acting on addressing real material need, it's just two white centered parties rearranging deck chairs on a sinking ship.

So how do you know that Trump's idea won't work? Try it out and see chickenshit. Prove him wrong! Ten bucks says if you drink the whole bottle you won't get COVID.

If I reacted to some of the FB posts on my page:
    • "Jesus Is Lord! Copy and paste this!"
    • "I bet you won't copy this to everyone you know. If you don't, I'll know you're not my Friend" Me: "Oh, please, please, please!"
    • "Prayers for my sister-in-law's cousin who has breast cancer! Pass this on!"
    • "Hey, there's this stupid game I just got lured into that will gain all of my personal info - JOIN ME!"
    • "IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE MILLIONS OF BABIES THAT THE DEMOCRAT CONGRESS IS KILLING EVERY YEAR, YOU'VE GOT TO SIGN HERE [and provide your credit card information]"

I'd never get anything done. Time to weed out your "Friends" list?

Socialism. Communism. All of the many flavors thereof.

What does any of that have to do with @Diacanu asking me to remember a discussion we had, when he doesn't specify when we had it? Were my friends list 100 people who posted a few times a day, I would still need a time of reference.

You said you got hundreds of posts a day from friends. Maybe you need to sift the important ones out of the static. Or just log out of FB and go take a walk. JMO.

    Before the election.
I put you on ignore for a bit to get through it while keeping a fucking gun out of my mouth.
I thought you might have noticed the silence.

Yes, my news feed on Facebook has hundreds of posts a day, and they are simple enough to track. In this case, @Diacanu is wanting me to remember something from a discussion we had, but didn't tell me when. The key issue here is in reference to timing. "Remember what I told you last week when we talked about transgender rights?" Yes, I can follow that. "Remember what I told you on Facebook?" is incomplete. There's not enough data. It is not unreasonable to ask for specifics.

I unfriended and blocked her a while before that, once she moved from principled disagreements to blind hatred and shitty personal insults*.

*But if you ask Amaris it's probably because I'm a racist pedophile transphobic rapist who hates immigrants, women, the disabled, refugees, kittens, and the poor. :async:

I found it. December 2nd, 2020. A few days shy of 12 weeks ago.
Buried amongst a thread of 30 other comments.

Fortunately, there was nothing between December 2nd, 2020 and February 22nd, 2021 to take my focus away from Facebook. I must also add that, sadly, I don't have @garamet's small friends list, or eidetic memory to otherwise bolster my recollection.
