He was annoying while @Ancalagon was in the middle of a bender.

Based on that, the conclusion I would draw isn't necessarily that he hates space; it's that any enthusiasm he has for space takes a back seat to his misogyny. If he sees something he can mock a woman for that he can pretend plays into one of his stereotypes, he's drawn to it like a moth to flame.
