Amazon recommend the comic to me and I checked it out. I didn't know there was a show until last night. Gonna have to watch it. Man the comics are crazy. So you're wrong. The Boys don't make Watchmen look like Teen Titans. The Boys make Watchmen look like Teen Titans Go!
I read the comics a few years back. Will definitely give the show a go. I like it that Simon Pegg--whose look was used for the Wee Hughie character in the comic--is in the show, even if he isn't playing Hughie.
Awesome! The show is finally out? I have the privilege of previewing the first three episodes (in rough cut) about six months ago!
Just finished watching, never read the comics. I enjoyed the hell out of it, although the "big surprise super twist ending" I saw coming the moment the parts of the plot related to it were established. Well, Still, predictability isn't necessarily a bad thing. Also, Black Noir is awesome.
Does anyone think that Urban looks uncannily like Will Riker with that beard and mustache? He's even got the same grin!
Finished both the show and the comics. Wow. The plane scene in the show was intense. Really intense. And The Deep is far more hilarious in the show than the comics. Even though he's a prime #metoo person you kind of feel bad for him. And the dolphin. Obviously the show is different from the comics in some areas but if they hold to the main themes that happen towards the end of the comic series it's going to be awesome. Which is why the bastards at Amazon will probably cancel it after the second season. The comics in a few issues do get a little boring because they are dealing with the back story of Butcher which I didn't really care for but once you get back to the dealing with the 7 is all bets are off. There is one thing I fear that could mess up the show and that is Butcher and Robin.
The Vought Headquarters building is only two blocks from my workplace, although it's a little vertically-challenged compared with what you see on television.
Caught the first 3 episodes last night, wow. I am really liking it. Hope to finish it up this weekend
I just finished it. Strong start with a bit of a weak end. Didn't entirely like the direction the last two episodes went, but what a ride!
I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I'm about to watch the last episode of season one, am really liking it, even though it's very different from the comics. Karl Urban is a total badass, and this is probably my favorite of the roles he's played.
Unclear. Finished it, liked it alot. Episode 8 takes the title for best death by heat vision scene(s) from Brightburn.
Butcher is not going to be blackmailed. Do you really think he cares? I also think Homelander doesn't give a damn about the item. Not with what he showed Butcher at the end of the episode.
Well I'm done, I knew she'd end up being alive. I liked it, but they could have sprinkled in a little more laughs. Elizabeth Shue
I just finished it last night. It is without a doubt the funniest, most fucked-up anti-super hero show ever! Karl Urban is fantastic, and I like how it focuses on Super Heroes going bad. The show really skewers the MCU and corporate America. And the scene with the Dolphin was the most fucked-up thing I've ever seen and I'm almost ashamed that I laughed my ass off....almost. I love shows that go out of their way to just be "wrong", and this one is wrong in spades.
