So the hallway footage not only shows the police standing around uselessly and cowardly for over an hour, but also casually checking their cell phone and grabbing some hand sanitizer. They were in the hallway three minutes after the gunman entered, and they did fuck all for over an hour.

Fuck them. So much blood is on their hands. Flay those pigs alive on pay per view and use the money raised to pay for the medical bills and therapy bills for the survivors and victims.

They edited out the sound of children screaming. Because of what the sound of children screaming would and should do to a human being.

Screams the cops heard up close and still could not be moved in any direction but away.

Our guns and freedom didn't prevent these cops from going in, they did that all by themselves.

The point is that these cops didn't go in for fear of being shot with an AR 15. Yet, those same people will vote against prohibiting unhinged assholes from purchasing them. You included.

Now, respond with something remotely productive or STFU.

so, like armed guards at every entrance or do you just want something like this with locked doors?

c'mon... define "simple controlled access points" to a building designed for 1000 people at a time.

No, I am not suggesting prison cell blocks or fire hazard sweat shops. I have described it before, and everyone wants to get histrionic about "subjecting the poor kids to the prison experience". :weep:

Locked access points, each with a guard watching you swipe an ID badge to open the door and pass through a metal detector. You might 3D print some polymer deathtrap of a gun, but I believe the ammunition will still be in metal casings. Do this and no cowardly little fucknut looking for soft targets is just going to stroll in. This is a functional, practical remedy that could be implemented with minimal manpower and existing technology and focused directly on the problem area, as opposed to making some Billy Bob Redneck a thousand miles away fill out extra papers for his hog hunting rifle, knowing full well he was never a school shooter threat.

Where I agree with this sentiment I have to realize there is little to no reason for any decent person to be either a cop or politician. If you forced a decent person to be a cop they would either lose their ethics, morals, an sense of reality very quickly and become bad, have a psychotic break, or suck off their firearm.

Decent people have better things to do than be cops, and the real motivation is for bullies and power corrupted people.

Absolutely. But since the supreme court has affirmed that cops are under no obligation to actually protect anyone, I don't really factor them into a working remedy.

no, I'm thinking of practical evacuations along with simple, efficient access.

you want to spend millions on metal detectors and digital swipe cards when I'm fairly certain nobody who has ever shot up a school kept that weapon concealed... then there's the matter how impractical would that be to the daily operations of the building? you really want to spend 30 seconds per kid? I'm presuming an armed guard or three at each of these-despite how effective they've proven in the past-that's gonna get expensive, especially once they get into the public service union. I'm not even going to venture into the idiocy of expecting elementary school kids to be responsible for the swipe cards-let alone not trading them amongst themselves or eating them or something.

If Billy Bob isn't the threat, how come most of these events happen in exurban (that's the ring outside of the suburbs) and rural areas? And did you really just pull the "50 feral hogs" move? sad, sad trombone...

We've got billions to send to fucking Ukraine. Clearly we can afford some goddamn metal detectors. The kids can do what the fuck they're told and be happy with the result of not being shot. I don't know what you're on about with the rest of that, but unless "Billy Bob" is committing school shootings, he isn't the threat.

Not talking about the school. Talking about the weapon.

If a cop is too afraid to stop a shooting for fear of the weapon, why is it in the hands of civilians?

So, your thinking is that those particular police would have been bolder if it had been a different weapon? Not buying it. Doesn't have to be the "scary looking black rifle" to use that ammunition, nor is that specific ammunition necessary to shoot up a school or a bunch of cops. There is nothing particularly special or unique about the damned AR15 platform. Fixating on that is just a tactic to ignore the real problems.

going just off of the locations on this far from complete list, yeah, it is Billy Bob or his inbred incel kid. If not, it's in an area that still has a lot of folks that own 4x4s...

walk through detectors start around eight grand per unit.

now about the logistics... you want to run let's say 800 kids through how many entry points at start of day, two recesses, and lunch, even at 10 seconds per kid to go through the machine each time. let's go with four entry points with two units per door. Factor in an attendant for each machine...do we want competent or mall cop? anyways, so 100 kids per machine is 1000 seconds (each time).

of course, we're ignoring the obvious that 75% of school shootings are by adults who wouldn't pass through the detectors anyways
and I'm still not sure how they'd stop some dude with an AR jsut strolling into the building whether he goes through the machine or not? do the metal detectors have confinement beams or forcefields? what would stop an armed person from simply walking around them?

That's some cute cherrypicking. Now compare school shootings with gang shootings. AR15s versus handguns.

Don't even want to hear it when we've got 50 billion for Ukraine.

I'm not saying it will be fun or devoid of all aggravation. I'm saying it will have a meaningful impact.

"We" aren't ignoring shit. You seem to have a different definition of "controlled access."

He doesn't get through the door without a badge swipe. It's not some silly ass subway turnstile. The guard is behind the thick glass they use at Stop and Rob gas stations in the friskier neighborhoods. No earth-shattering innovations here. Nothing people haven't seen before. I worked security at a toy warehouse that had tighter entry points than your average public school.

Alright so every single student has a swipe card, and have to entry the building single file, closing the door between them, multiple times per day, in a system reliant on children barely out of diapers remembering those cards.

    Very practical.

no, it's the first list on google under school shootings. Hard to keep track withthe hundreds of other mass shootings in the US every year though.

Besides how far you can fuck off with "what about...", I'd point out that the money for Ukraine at least is going to have some measurable effect... unlike this retarded notion that metal detectors will stop an asshole with an AR from entering, let alone be cost effective in any sense.

Addressed above and no, your "proposal" is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Explain what you mean by "controlled access" then. after all, you brought it up.

so the guard is in a bullet proof fish bowl. this helps him stop who from going through the metal detector?

and you seriously want to add something like this to the entry process as well as metal detectors?

for a guy who talks about others needing to plan for any and all contingencies, you seem to be focusing on one and one alone.

besides the cost in money and hours to every single day you're adding going through this rube goldberg device, you still need UNIMPEDED routes to fire exits.
