First trailer and as far as I can tell it will be a silent movie, not one of those new age "talkies"

Can we all admit that Pedro Pascal is just doing voice over work for this stuff now? This is basically an expensive cartoon.

I'm kind of waiting for a Star Wars movie that's received so poorly, the CHUD-o-sphere has to give "Last Jedi" "Rise Of Skywalker" and "Solo" a big sobbing apology hug.

I think it'll make a good date and family flick.

Also willing to bet that we'll get a trilogy out of it with Grogu as a 'tween and Mando as a millennial dad in middle age...

This looks middling, but @Steal Your Face should really release the Epstein files already.

I thought the idea of "baby yoda" as used in the first season was a fine enough McGuffin. Then, for my part, send him off with Luke and be done with it.

They choose to do otherwise and the more he's involved in a story the less I'm interested in that story.

Exactly, it doesn’t look like something that should be in theaters.

I'm not a huge fan of The Mandalorian. I've seen Season One and enjoyed it. I've seen bits and pieces from later shows. The Bill Burr episode looked good and the Luke Skywalker scene rocked (apart from the stiffness of the dialogue and the not quite lifelike CGI).

Saw the trailer for the new film at the theater a week ago. It didn't strike me as seeming anything more than a two hour (ish) episode of the show. Maybe high-budget streaming shows have spoiled me.

And I continue to not get the Pedro Pascal appeal. At all.

He was really good in that Nick Cage movie, but overall...yeah. Just a guy. Fine enough but not his generation's Harrison Ford or whatever.

It may have always been this way but last decade or two Hollywood seems to get in a rut - Chris Pine was good and popular in that one movie? Let's cast him in 19 others...then Henry Cavill, same story. Even a good actor doesn't have to play EVERY hero.

That SB ad, yikes. They really haven’t done a good job marketing this movie which is surprising

So apparently that's intentional, perhaps? Apparently the ad references a lot of famous Superbowl ads. Easy to miss from the outside, US ads are probably one of the biggest pieces of US pop culture that don't make it outside.

Look up Budweiser Clydesdale ads on YouTube and you'll get an idea, but speaking as a Yank, I wouldn't have made the connection if you hadn't said something.

Disney Explains Why the ‘Mandalorian and Grogu’ Super Bowl Spot Was Like That

You read what the folks from Disney say, and it's pretty clear that they're competing with the marketing department of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as to who'll be first up against the wall when the revolution comes.
