This thread is dedicated to those songs you forgot existed. It doesn't have to be a one hit wonder band, it could include an old Beatles song you haven't heard in a while. This could be a song you heard "the other day" and just simply forgot about it. It could be a cover too. I just want to distinguish this thread from the cover thread. First up, this song I heard a local band cover this song and I'm pretty sure, at the time, I was the only one who recognized it.
When a Man Can't Get a Woman Off His Mind Craig Morgan Written by Whispering Bill Anderson Blonde in Blue: Elizabeth Cook Brunette in Red and Black: Chanlee Tennison It's Just a Matter of Time Brook Benton Written by Brook Benton, Clyde Otis and Belford Hendricks
Yes "Jailbreak" is a great song, from the album of the same name. That album also had "the boys are back in town" and "the cowboy song" which are big hits. Phil Lynott died at only 35 years old too. Check out "waiting for an alibi" from Thin Lizzy if you have never heard that - great little known song.
YES! Totally "one hit wonder" and brings back some memories of Korea 1992 (you had to be there) but this is the SHIT! It was my theme some up in that joint!
Thanks @oldfella1962 , you just made me think of one. I didn't hear it though. Still don't know what the hell the guy is saying.
The Bellamy Brothers If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body The Forester Sisters Mama's Never Seen Those Eyes
Merle Haggard and the Strangers The Bottle Let Me Down Merle Haggard and Asleep at the Wheel Big City
Hey! I have a hat like Merle in that first video! I rarely wear it though because it doesn't look good with shorts, gym shoes & t-shirt.
now that's music! These kids today don't know what they're missing. A couple of weeks ago I saw several traveling up to north georgia - we don't get too many skunks in my county. BTW - Louden Wainwright (the singer) made an appearance on M.A.S.H. but he didn't perform this song.
wow! I Can't call it a "cover" since you can't really cover your own song (can you?) but here is Sammy Hagar & Daryl Hall coving Sammy Hagar's "Your love is driving me crazy" but the focal point here - as if anyone could ignore the elephant in the room - is the drummer. WTF? Damn that dude is ON FIRE!
Damn. Wish I’d known about this thread a week ago. I heard a song … sometime in the last week, that I hadn’t heard in decades. Can’t remember the song now or what day it was cuz I’m old and my memory is shit. However!. A year ago, coming back from Arkansas after my brother’s funeral, I heard this one …
i was looking for the covers thread because of track 2 being a Stones tune, but this thread came up first and here we are
