Because, speaking as someone who has had to do research on obscure topics, there are times when you will drill down through a seemingly unrelated work, and find just a sentence or two, that explains so much of whatever it is you're researching. Given how shoddily AI works, this really disturbs me. Important clues about our past might be lost because of shit like this.

I was messing with an AI bot online. It stopped responding when I kept giving it more and more instructions on how to respond. It was taking several screens of scrolling on my phone to respond to each instruction. Then just stopped. When I reloaded the the website it still wasn't responding.
