In Germany in 1943, John-boy would be bitching about all the goddamned unpatriotic people while ruefully garrotting them with piano wire.

Oh, most likely. I speak terrible German, and by terrible German, I mean poor grammar terrible German, not Rudolf Hess terrible German. In this case, I had Google translate it for me, which should account for the awfulness.

Whatever medication you're on, Bert, up the dose, because if you think Wordforge is 1943 Nazi Germany, you are out of your mind.

Read it again. Because you didn't understand what I said.

If you still can't figure it out, let me know and I'll try to break it down to a level you can get. :)

I read what you said. I don't think you understand what you said, so let's go back and look, shall we?

    Okay, Germany, 1943...

I assume this is supposed to be me. So far, so good...

I'm not sure you can say anything about bitching, but we'll continue...

Okay, I'm not sure who the unpatriotic people are. You may mean it from my perspective, and intend for me to view you and others as unpatriotic, or you may mean it from your perspective, referring to those whom you feel do not live up to your idea of Wordforge. The way you word it does not indicate either, but we'll go with the former, as it gets the closest to making sense...

I'm not sure how one ruefully garrotes people, but you chose piano wire as the weapon of choice.

So your metaphor here paints the visual that were I to be fighting in 1943 Nazi Germany, I would be lamenting the number of unpatriotic people I encounter as I slice their throats with piano wire.

Are you sure you know what you said? I don't think you do.

I'm pretty sure he does. The question is whether he has enough awareness to realize how idiotic it sounds.

This wouldn't be a constant issue if you'd just get it reich the first time.*

Yeah. I didn't think you could figure it out. Here's a hint: I didn't say "Wordforge is exactly like Nazi Germany..." I said "If you were in Nazi Germany..."

To wit: You live in 21st century America. So you sit around coming up with little ways you can take your Enemies down a few pegs on a dying BBS.

Now, say you lived in early-mid 20th century Germany. You'd sit around coming up with neat little patches you could make your Enemies wear to take them down a few pegs.

    Ist clar? :)

So your commenting about 1943 Germany, garrote wire, and rueful grins has nothing to do with a metaphor about 1943 Germany. You must have thought that so clever when you first posted it. What's sad is you apparently still think it is.

What you said in your metaphor is that I was either a Nazi ruefully killing Americans with garotte wire, or that I was an American killing Nazis with garotte wire. Either way, the end result is that you are dead.

Yet here you are, whining away with virtual necks fully intact.

Have you figured out why your metaphor was ridiculously stupid yet?

Look as much as I'd like to play garamet games with you, I really wouldn't. I've got about a million things better to do than to find ways to fuck over my Enemies on some obscure Internet BBS.

Do you realize you contradict yourself in the first sentence? While I'm thinking about it, if you had a million things to do that were better than this, why did you do this? You talk about valuable time and then squander it on pettiness. That you not only squander it on pettiness, but do it toward your "Enemies" on "some obscure Internet BBS" (which you capitalize those for some reason), shows that you're either lying about having a million things to do, or those million things involve this "obscure Internet BBS."

In short, it looks like I repeatedly wasted your valuable time, and yet you kept coming back for more. You can't even run away without tripping over your fucking shoelaces. Jesus.

Which is why the second Trump won you rushed back to the board to gloat and your posting frequency went up substantially. I guess 999,999 of those things weren't as important as that.

John certainly thinks so. I mean first he pushed discourage and now this. The guy has an unhealthy obsession with attacking his imaginary "enemies" . Pathetically so.

Is there anyone, aside from the owners and staff, who think this violet room is a good idea?

Not that it really matters what the rest of us think but would be useful to know. Usually when a :mob: drama happens we find out that those who protest are just a small group, with the larger body of the membership in favour of the changes. See rep for example.

Is this the same? I’m not too sure.

Wait, Volpone is whimpering about people fighting "Enemies", on a board, and being Nazi-like, while right after the election gleefully talking about "settling old scores", "curb stomping liberals", and "they need to be beaten down".

AS racial violence is going on in the world.

Wow. Volpone, ever the king of projection.

One of America's great, unsung heroes was Wisconsin Senator Joe McCarthy. His activities, suppressing unAmerican communists probably saved our Republic during a crucial time in the Cold War.

I'm confused. I thought Steve Rogers was Captain America, not Senator McCarthy?

Admittedly, I haven't been watching these new Captain America talkies.

Thinking a bit more on the topic and seeing what has worked elsewhere I would suggest giving the violet room it's own board purpose. Since this is going to be partially a callout room you might want to give out some annual asshole awards. You could cite red room content in the violet room without bringing the arguments of who should get what award and why over to the red room. You could also put in some monthly awards.

This gives the room a purpose more than just calling someone out. To avoid problems you could let people opt out as long as they opt out of participation in the violet room. I don't think any of the attention shores, myself included, are going to avoid the nominations.

I have seen it done, and if it something people are interested in I could suggest some categories. This does take effort and you may want to have a popular user hype the contests, open the the discussion and poll threads, and create the dates. I am not aware of the time involved in board moderation here and this might become too much of a chore as it is going to generate some discourse and disagreements.

You do enjoy lying a lot for a lawyer. Gee, isn't it strange how trolling and defamation outside the red room are suddenly allowed when the target is on the mods target list?

Anything to get out of actually enforcing the rules, eh, buttercup? Telling the truth, which yourself publicly admitted to is hardly a troll, big boy. You admitted your goal with the exile forum was to get rid of pisters you disliked. Kind of like how you championed discourage, huh?
