Take my money! Rangnarok is a top 4 Marvel movie and this one has the Guardians of the Galaxy in it. Stoked
They found the right tone with Thor in Ragnarok, and having the Guardians along just makes it better.
I really was not interested in whiny emo tony stark in iron man 3, but sarcastic whiny emo thor is a bit fun. I will give this a shot. It seems like a throaway movie with the plot, but I am actually interested in how a god like Thor deals with the depression he was in.
I only just noticed: in the beginning of the trailer when we see Thor at various ages running through the woods, the middle version is wearing a comics-accurate Thor costume.
As soon as it came out that she was going to be Lady Thor, she said "well, I guess I'm going to the gym then".
Looks terrific. Humor is definitely the right tone for Thor. I love how Russell Crowe's Zeus--a Greek god--actually speaks with a Greek accent.
Thor will be the oblivious, incompetent butt of every joke, constantly needing the STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMYN to bail him out of his weak, foolish male ways. The STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMYN will have no flaws, no room for improvement and absolutely no need of any assistance from any man, ever. Maybe I'm the only one who isn't looking forward to this. I'm sure it will be on NetFulumazonMax some day. I can wait.
Men still control Hollywood. it's not the goal of women. it's the goal of hollywood writers. They, not women, write all the movies and tv shows that have caricatures of men and caricatures of women. Bad writing is bad writing. Why bitch about women when your bitch is actually about the writing?
I suspect it will be not dissimilar to Ragnarok, where Thor was the butt of some jokes, needed some help from men (Hulk and Loki and Korg and Miik and Heimdall and Dr. Strange and Odin and godsdamned Surtur) and women (Valkyrie), but was shown to be a badass in his own right. Only this time some of the aforementioned men are dead, many are not likely going to do an encore, and there's going to be at least one other woman on his side in Jane/Mighty Thor. Hulk, Dr. Strange and Surtur are presumably not in the movie. I suppose it's possible variant Loki shows up. The trailer has Zeus, so I would imagine that there is going to be Hercules, and that he'll have a decent amount of screen time. Thor may get help from some some of the Guardians of the Galaxy (split roughly evenly genderwise), or they may disappear early on in the movie. I trust the powers that be to have Jane have flaws like anyone else.
I welcome and am looking forward to bad-ass Jane, but would be off-put if she exists mainly to denigrate or upstage Thor. Thor is a little ridiculous, but he should solidly remain the hero of his own movie.
