So we finally know how the secret service (SS is an appropriate abbreviation we find out) will protect cheeto hitler if he ever goes to jail. Those traitorous assholes will hopefully be in jail with him for trying to over5throw the US government with him, and protect him from prosecution.

They all belong in prison. If they ever start the revolution we hang them like the Nazis they all are.

Isn't it great to hear the Trumpistas whining about the lack of "supporters" on the Jan 6 committee? It happened because Trump, speaking through the craven, chickenshit, toady Kevin McCarthy refused to name any of fellow Trumpistas to the committee. It's a strategic mistake right up there with the Soviet Union skipping the U.N. meeting where the Security Council authorized military force against North Korea.
Slightly off-topic one of MSNBC's legal experts pointed out that the Federal Statute under which Steve Bannon was convicted specifies a minimum of 30 days to maximum of one year "in jail". The implication being that Bannon could do whatever time he gets hit with in the D.C. lockup instead of Club Fed. After a few weeks in that calaboose, he might not think his strategy was all that great.

Interesting article from the NY Times about the Trump attempts to overthrow the Georgia results. Prosecutor Willis has a history of prosecuting RICO cases and this certainly would seem to be a perfect fit and a textbook definition of "conspiracy." However, this in particular caught my eye:
Mr. Eisen said that Georgia law was more narrowly applicable to the conduct of the former president, notably through statutes like “Criminal solicitation to commit election fraud.” Additionally, the state’s racketeering laws are more expansive than the federal version, Mr. Eisen said, with “a much broader set of predicate acts” that “gives a prosecutor more leeway than a federal prosecutor charging RICO would have.”

Given Ms. Willis’s history, Mr. Eisen said, “she’s clearly going to charge this as a RICO case.” If she does, he added, it “is very likely to be one of the most important criminal RICO cases ever brought in United States history.”

It is good for nick that there is not some easy name search function that would show any future employer how much he loves to make bullshit civil lawsuits and make trouble for non-white people. I would imagine that hiring managers would chopstick his resume into the trash with ten foot poles if that were the case.

@Demiurge posted that already in one of the other multiple Trump obsession threads. What's to stop them from changing their minds after the midterms and why are they even paying his legal fees in the first place?

If the RNC does follow through and stop his legal bills look for another Trump appeal to his cult followers based on the claim that "they stole the election and now they've bought off the Republican party!" (so gimme, gimme, gimme). I'm convinced that his cult is slowly shrinking but, it's still big enough to generate a lot of $. Would he be willing to torpedo the Republicans by running for president as an independent? Does anyone think he wouldn't? :chris:

One of two things will happen, (A) He starts badmouthing the RNC which runs the risk of exposing his grift or (B) he shuts up and decides not to run and then later on starts badmouthing the RNC once the dust settles.

What a giant piece of semi-human shaped garbage.

And yet there are still some anti-anti-Trumpers out there that pop up any time some criticism is leveled… ‘But, but… Hillary! BOTH SIDES! Emails! WOKE! Vince Foster! BENGAZI!’ :dayton:

    One can hope.

With Biden's approval ratings, that would be a huge saving grace for him.

Twitter thread by a tax researcher on it. Spoiler alert, it’s a trifecta of tax breaks. https://twitter.com/ebharrington/status/1553533320469905409?s=21&t=fvFQqbVvtpWdEGMqbNyiGQ
