most military 'mess halls' are like any other cafeteria. They have a 'short order' line with burgers and sandwich type stuff. As well as a 'specialty' line for like .... I dunno ... sushi maybe. and then they have the 'today's meal' line that has real food and most of the time, it's well prepared and tastes good.

like every other 'school' in the military. Cooks receive an 18 week course. truck driver was 8 weeks and communications (which requires a secret clearence) was 20 weeks. the food is good. but not just burgers.
