Well, I'm sure the Pentagon will explain very calmly, and with a touch of sorrow, how US forces didn't kill any civilians.

    Remember, we're the good guys.
    We're always the good guys.
Anything that happens, anyone that dies unintentionally, it was unfortunate, but a sad fact of life, because we are the good guys.

Now please get back to work.

Are there any reports saying the civilians weren't killed by the ISIS leader himself?

Are there any reports saying the America forces didn't make an effort to avoid civilian casualties?

Is there any analysis of the current situation that suggests letting the leader of ISIS continue leading ISIS would save more innocent lives than were lost during the operation to take him out?

It looks like they evacuated 10 civilians, I can’t find any conflicting reports saying we screwed up. Looks like a W for Biden.

I wasn't aware I outsourced my own personal morals and ethics to others.

Yeah, tell us more about your personal morals and ethics. Tell us how many deaths you expect will occur during the violent Communist takeover of the American government you dream of seeing. Tell us how it's worth breaking some eggs for that particular omelette, but not to assassinate a terrorist leader that's responsible for hundreds if not thousands of deaths.

Or, y'know, just spout some vague generalities and empty platitudes and call it a day. :dayton:

Or I could focus on the US military machine killing more innocent people and writing them off as unfortunate casualties, if they acknowledge their deaths at all. We can't get needed supplies, rent assistance, food assistance, relief checks, or medical care to the people who desperately need it, but we can drop 800 billion a year on the military infrastructure, and we can send Ukraine $500 million in "lethal aid."

You deal with Canada, let me criticize the bullshit my country continues to engage in every day.

Apropos of nothing, "Apropos of Nothing" was also the title of known creep and alleged child molester Woody Allen's 2020 memoir. :bergman:

So what was the point of bringing up George Floyd in a thread about the assassination of the leader of IS? :chris:

One assumes to point out that authorities will sanitise reports as much as possible and thus that may be the case here. Nothing in that Floyd report is actually a lie, but there's a shitload of omission.

That's pretty much what I assumed. It's certainly a point, but I wouldn't say it's a great point. If we're going to treat every report from American sources with suspicion, why accept a report from Syrian sources about civilian casualties without question? Without some sort of consistency, it's just anti-American bias disguised as skepticism. :clyde:

Also, it's just cheap and shitty. Discrediting a military operation by bringing up a time that cops tried to whitewash police brutality? It's like that time Amaris was calling Biden a rapist, and when people asked how Biden made it through Obama campaigns vetting process if he was a rapist, Amaris just posted a picture of Obama standing with Harvey Weinstein without further comment. We're almost all adults here, we should be able to say what we want to say without resorting to sketchy innuendo.

Because of people like chelsea manning we know the military covers up it's foreign actions because it knows they are disgusting. I think accepting what is told to us about violence our military does thousands of miles away without any real investigation is more like selective blindness than insightful.

One of their number died rescuing civilians in a despicable terrorist incident.

An international day of mourning has been declared and a formal petition sent to the UN to seek justice.

A spokesperson declared the group remains committed to it's peaceful mandate of promoting tolerance in the region and will not allow aggression to lead to hatred. Thoughts and prayers to the families of those killed.
