I go to the Sao Paulo every year or two for a couple of weeks. I love seeing family there and enjoying the culture. When I get back I don't have a piece of steak for a month, lol.

Loads of steaks, loads of hearty stews with rice and good soups/broths too, all of them very meat'centric.

I had homemade bacon mushroom and anchovy pizza for dinner.

Made it with the kids and it was good.

Looks terrific. Do you make your own dough and cook it on stone on a grill?

Coxinha is a fried appetizer with chicken, some kind of sour cream, spices, etc. It's terrific and comes in a cone shape or bite-size option at parties.

Pastel is the ultimate appetizer. Rectangular in shape, it can be filled with any beef, chicken, veggie, cheese, calabresa, or pizza toppings. Paired with an iced cold soda or beer and it's perfect. Screenshot_20250531_180914_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20250531_180914_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20250531_180639_Gallery.jpg

Do you have a grill? If so, a pizza stone is cheap and it comes out crispy and chewy. Also, if you haven't, try Caputo "00" flower from Italy. Yours looks fabulous.

For what it's worth, even a pizza stone preheated in an indoor oven makes a damn good pizza.

I mean I'm not against investing one at all, but so far been making homemade pizza for about 2 or 3 years and I'm pretty happy with how the crust and dough comes out.

Well then you keep doughing you. I feel like there are very few ways to fuck up cooking a pizza, and if one does, it can easily turn into a surprise calzone.

Thanks for your insights but no Calzones so far, but I'm not against getting a little pizza oven thing I'll just keep an open eye and open mind, if I come across one I'll probably pick one up.

Just got back from a business trip in Indonesia and Thailand

Noodles and broth every day for breakfast. We've got to normalize this in the West

    Escargot and bone marrow

Indonesia has the best fried chicken you'll ever have

    Assorted delights

White Anchovies, or Boquerones if you speak Spanish

    Sablefish

I fixed myself a mostly club sandwich today. I say mostly club because it had no turkey. It had black forest ham, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, 4 strips of bacon, with sandwich spread, on very thick honey white bread. I had it with a side of deviled egg potato salad. It was delicious.

Weeknight fast and easy dinner of fusilli and store-brand tomato/basil sauce.

    IMG_2354.jpeg

Store brand isn't an insult here. All the ones they make are excellent and far better than Ragu, Prego, or even Paul Newman's brand.
