With all of the changes The Obama claimed would take place under his leadership I am hard pressed to see what good has come out of the current administration.

The most significant positive in my opinion is Obama taking out OBL. Other than that, we were sold a bill of goods.

I'm a CCNA, and I've gotten out of Memphis. And, due to the housing market I was able to buy a hell of a lot more house than I would have been able to in '08.

There are no obstacles...only opportunities. :)

I look at it as more of a loan the government made me. I'll be paying it back with higher taxes from my higher wages.

That doesn't matter to KIRK, because he has, of course, never benefited from another person's tax dollars in his life. No, sir, not in any way whatsoever.

Which is the most significant problem for big government types. You completely ignore who creates the wealth you have benefited from.

    Yeah. Him.

I got a WIA grant to get my CCNA. Now before you try to imply that you paid for it, consider the fact that the amount I got is only a FRACTION of what I've paid in taxes over the decades. I don't feel a damn bit guilty.

Nobody. However a lot of people seem to think that people who recieve help from the .gov are leaches and/or parasites. Some probably are, but not all.

Some people do. But, I fail to see how acknowleding where the money comes from is saying you should feel guilty.

If by telling Nick "you're welcome", you weren't trying to imply that he should feel guilty for directly benefiting from your hard earned coin, then forget I mentioned it.

In addition to the value of my investments having recovered completely from the tumble they took in 2008, I make more money than I did then, and also keep slightly more of it due to the Obama payroll tax cut.

Curse you, Obama, for ruining my life!

KIRK's disagreement indicates he has in fact been on the government tit at some point in his life.

    Bill Maher agrees:

As for what has improved since 2008, well, despite this week's drama, the market is still 2,500 points higher than it was when Bush left office, the draw-down in Iraq has reduced the number of American troops in country from 140,000 when Bush left office to 46,000 as of June 2011, unemployment figures, while still high, are not as high as expected, and ODS continues to claim casualties daily, providing endless entertainment for the rest of us.

Oh, and add me to the higher income/lower taxes bracket. :)

There's the end of DADT, but other than that, everything that started under Bush has kept going, and he's added on plenty of his own bullshit.

No, not everybody, but there are plenty.

I have no issue with folks using gubmint programs to better themselves and improve their quality of life. I do have issues with folks latching on to the gubmint tit and staying there.

And now KIRK disagrees with his own disagreement. :cadre:

Where do you get "political genius consultant" from? You're just throwing words at the page. If you want to be a grownup, try refuting anything in that quotation.

    I'll refute it.

    1. Social Security - it's a poorly designed program to say the least, but I've paid into it ever since I was 19 years old.

    2. Medicare - See #1.

    3. Unemployment - See #1.

    4. Fannie and Freddy - Cut them out and let the market work.

    5. Corporate Welfare - See #4.

    6. Bailouts - See #4.

    7. Farm subsidies - See #4.

As for Bll Maher, piss on that idiot.

And now KIRK's disagreeing with himself disagreeing with himself. :cadre: :cadre:

Okay, cool. Same old soapbox. And I might actually agree with you to some degree on some of them.

However, if you can find support for any of these programs in the quote, you must be wearing the wrong glasses.

The point of the quote is that the very same people who bitch about these program are very often collecting from them.

Which, as someone employed by Tenncare, clearly eluded you.

I'm no fan of Maher's; I figure his relationship with Coulter says all anyone needs to know about where he falls on the intelligence spectrum. But the quote made me laugh. It's funny 'cause it's true.

What I expected Ward to do was dig up some stats showing that no one in the Tea Party is collecting a farm subsidy, for example. Clearly :fail:

Ditto to that. And we spent most of the $8,000 on a trip to Ireland. How's THAT for irony?

The fact that I'm NOT employed by TennCare clearly eluded you. TennCare pays my employer, who pays me.
