As far as "not proud" games go, I've been playing Crusaders of the Lost Idols. Just an "idle"/clicky game that has the appeal that if progression becomes too hard, you can just come back a few days later and your characters will have been leveling up meanwhile. The appeal to me is playing with different formations for maximal efficiency.

I'm also working on finishing The Enchanted Cave 2, which is a great little game all about turn-based killing things while managing resources and shinies, so it's right up my alley. Things got a lot more fun when I permed the transmutation spell.

Need for Speed 2015 doesn't allow the player to customize controls. Are you fucking kidding me EA??? This is a racing game! How retarded is this? Some people... Yes, the PS4 allows to change the settings of the controller and I will be able to make the game playable, but still...

Wound up getting the game. I'm enjoying it, it's a bit different than I expected but in a good way. The actual game story, so far seems a bit formulatic and the side missions keep straying but still a fun game.

I've been getting back into Guild Wars 2 a little bit, since I had 2+ weeks of nothing to do but sit around with a broken foot. But now that I have come back to work, I haven't been playing anything really.

"Dark Souls" gets on my nerves. Brutal. Fuck this shit!

So much for being a "true" gamer. :( Alas, at least it was cheap. In five years or so, I will have beaten all these "Souls"-games.

I'm trying to get my old gaming laptop working so that I can enjoy "Skyrim" for another 300 hours or so. I quit playing on the PC, but I want to visit Tamriel one more time. It will take hours to find all the neccessary mods! There should be a a list of the hundred most important mods somewhere on the web, at least I hope so.

Wow, Skyrim looks great on my old laptop with a lousy GT 650M chip! The modders did a great job with the graphics. I installed countless immersion mods, too. The game now allows real role playing. It's like a new game, despite being more than four years old. I wonder how great Fallout 4 will be in a few years! :)

Played some of the Overwatch beta today. It feels good. It's like Team Fortress 2 but with MOBA abilities. It's not a MOBA, but it's a little like if they took characters from a MOBA and made a class based shooter out of it.

Also played some Ronin, Hearthstone because of the new expansion, and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

Anyone tried X-COM2 yet? The setting depressed me after all my heroic victories in Enemy Within, but then I only played on Normal at highest. Trying on Classic now, but not Ironman or it'd be game over already.

Want to pick it up but annoyed it's only on PC not console.

I haven't played it, but I seem to recall people talking mess about it. I don't remember what they were saying but I do remember it being negative.

I haven't seen much on the actual gameplay, which is why I was hoping for some comment here. Most of the negative stuff seems to be the storyline since it shits over your Enemy Unknown/Within playthroughs:

Welp, I've taken the plunge and bought the deluxe version through Steam, so I'll be back with a review once the download has finished and I've had a chance to get a feel for it.

Well, am several missions in, so here goes:

It feels familiar and different at the same time. Here, XCOM are the aliens, sneaking around trying to get their shit done. Get close enough to an alien and you identify its sight range - moving into this or attacking removes your concealment from the aliens and they will rush for cover/attack. This does let you plan overwatch traps, but your triggering soldier may get a volley of return fire. Sectoids are now intimidating, having had a storyline upgrade to make them tougher AND they all have mind control powers from the get-go. There's a new "weak but numerous" enemy to replace them though.

It feels tougher, too. Even on Rookie difficulty (hey, I want to get a feel for the storyline as well as the gameplay) you will find your soldiers taking grave injuries in early missions that put them out of action for over a week, whilst snipers (sharpshooters in this version since they get equal skills with pistol as sniper rifle) aren't quite as likely to hit anything early on - most every skill in the early tree actually causes a penalty to aim, so it's only later on they'll start slaughtering enemies from across the map on Overwatch. One very useful early weapon is the Flashbang grenade - HUGE area of effect and it disorients enemies only, so feel free to chuck it at the feet of your hapless Ranger who got themselves surrounded. You can now also deliberately target explosive objects like petrol pumps with standard firearms, rather than needing to trip them with grenades. Took out a small squad that way :)

Missions have timers much more often than in XCOM1, prohibiting overuse of slow, cautious advances under Overwatch.

Rather than the Council sending you supplies and cash each month based on performance and satellite coverage, you'll need to seek out supply lines. The base this time is mobile, so you'll have to fly about looking for gear, personnel and intel. Any more than that gets a bit spoilery, so:

All in all, a good sequel - I don't mind the storyline as much as I thought I would because the cutscenes do give a sense of renewed hope, even if the victory you got in XCOM1 is reduced to just a false memory here. I do wish there was an option for thumbpad control though - I'm so used to it from playing the first game on the X360 that mouse/keyboard feels very clunky.
