    Today's ROE are due to smart bombs and high tech. Not possible during any major war of the past.

    Hell no. The colonies would have to sit down with George III at the UN and talk it out...and they'd still be talking today. And if someone did throw a bomb, or toss tea, Cindy Sheehan would come running with her kettle and kitchen dress yelling THIS WAR IS ILLEGAL; FEAR THE ENABLERS.
