Anyone remember RobL, Sardy, Missmanners, Gul, TBonz? And whatever happened to Christian and Lisa from Trekbbs? And that one guy who use to mod the scifi forum over there? What was his name? There was that picture of him dressed up as Harry Potter or something?

Gul and T'bonz just regular drifted way.
RobL and Sardonicus/Sardy....jeez, I don't remember.
I think they became full time TK guys, and then I didn't keep track of goings on there.
I just assumed everyone at TK ate poison pudding so they could slough off their meat-bodies, and meet a passing comet.

Actually, I heard them get a name check in Tuesday's God Awful Movies episode.
It was Star Trek 5.
TBBS got called out as "a place devoted to having exactly these kinds of conversations", when the discussion got into nitpicky details on Klingons.

T'Bonz has had some serious family issues to deal with and probably has more than enough on her plate trying to keep TrekBBS on course. As far as I know Christian still owns TrekBBS. He was never all that active anyway. I got the impression that he was happy as long as the board generated enough money to keep him in video games. Lisa seemed to disappear after her stint as board leader. Neroon was the long time moderator who ruled with an iron fist the forum devoted to second guess moderator's rulings. Haven't seen a post from him in years.

Neroon, yeah! That was it. So TBonz still runs Trekbbs? Lisa never came back huh?

They're all being cast in opposite genders and ethnicities for the 2020 TrekBBS reboot.

I just got a warning from Neroon a few weeks ago for telling some fuckhead to fuck off, so he's still moderating over there. T'Bonzie is there all the time too.

Oh, the memories....

Yes. Already like... shockingly 17 years ago, when I was a mod on the German trekbbs (then a subsection of the international one), I tried to get him to make good on his promise to give us access to the database to be able to move our neglected forum somewhere else, and he was kind of impossible to reach. After a gazillion of ignored messages and emails, I managed to find his phone number in a domain record and called him. He seemed pretty surprised and slow, and I was contacted by a really agry Lisa the next day, who said that I shouldn't have done this and that we could now forget about it all. We ended up using some scripts to download and parse the html. The forum still exists and is at something like two posts a month, last time I checked.

As someone who's never been more than a lurker here, I begin to find myself unable to connect the present to the past because I cannot follow the name changes. Who is The Night Funky? MikeH92467? Amaris? Fisherman's Worf? SpotSomenunber? For all I know, they could be Christian, Lisa, phantomofthenet, Jerico and Lt. Mewa. Styles and politics probably don't match, but who can be expected to keep track of what some internet message board aliases are like over almost a quarter of a century...

For the record, Amaris = John Allen and Fisherman's Worf is Chad. Jeriko abruptly stopped posting in '05, POTN went batshit behind rep or something and Mewa got bored .Lisa never posted here and actively banned anyone who mentioned WF on TBBS. I had exactly one run in with that bitch before Bonz took over. I like Bonz a lot more.

I was only ever Chad here. I think my TrekBBS name was Neroon.

I think I was here from almost the beginning. I remember when Cassandra made the announcement over on TBBS... amazing how many people migrated over here throughout the years.
