What I do, when I'm picking threads to release, is to start at threads that haven't had a post in a month. I start there and work my way back. Everything that meets that criteria gets tossed into a special holding sub-forum of The Shelter and we give everyone a chance to read them to make sure there's no e-mail addresses and such in them, and then they're released.

In fact, I was just looking at the shelter and, after reading through them, I just released 12 more threads which should have been included. Nick just went back one tick further on the time scale.

Actually, it was because I moved all the threads last week, so any thread that was only three weeks old is now a month old.
