We should just unban everyone, make the Shelter visible but only postable by staff..deleting the Vacation and duals threads..vacations can be PM'd to staff in the future, put up a warnings/ban list, add two new forums, bitching and whining and a trolling/drama forum, both hidden and joinable where the trolls can masturbate to their hearts content and the rest of is can just move the fuck on. Any discussions can be done in chat or over PM that need privacy.

Who gives a fuck anymore? Borgs can't do shit, CM and GE clearly have at least enough decency not to post truly hurtful information, polarslam is already here for fuck's sake and who the hell cares?

If rules start getting broken, they will end up out again eventually anyway. Just take away every damn weapon they have and be done with it. We don't have anything to hide anyway.

Unbanning everybody might be a good idea. Might look desperate doing it now tho. As for the HD... as soon as an admin/the mod in question answered the question, just lock the thread. No more probing and trying and wiggling and making up bizarre stuff.

If it's rabble rousing bullshit it belongs in bitching and whining. If it is a respectful question in the help desk it will be treated respectfully. Along with this the Help Desk should be Ask-Answer-Closed and consistantly. Discussions on policy are cool as long as it's civil. With a forum to bitch in there would be no excuse for the help desk to have shit in it, IMO.

I hear what Tamar is saying and have myself thought that the Shelter threads should be released, not quarterly or whatever, but as soon as they're resolved. I don't think a fully open Shelter would be a good idea - we do need some privacy to discuss shit - but releasing the threads as soon as we're done with 'em would defuse a lot of crap.

fais and gul were able to stir drama in part because of the illusion of secrecy and Eliteforge (and yes it does exist), that's hard to do when mod actions are in the light of day.

The release of personal information in The Shelter? That's an abuse of priviledge, and really shouldn't be done anyway, sunlight would insure that it isn't.
