That's right: the place that rents fully automatic firearms to the general public.

First up, M-16 in 5.56mm caliber, holo-sights. Tore up Osama bin Laden with it (well, OBL's likeness, anyway). 25 rounds. Short bursts. A couple of long bursts that I had to let go before I started punching holes in the ceiling. Awesomeness factor: 8.

Next, MP5 in 9mm caliber, iron sights. 2 30 round mags. Asian dude being all bad, pointing a handgun at me. Very controllable gun. I dissected him with multiple 3-4 shot bursts. Confident with a long burst I could carve a "Z" (for Zorro) into him. Awesomeness factor: 6.

Finally, M249 SAW, belt-fed 5.56mm light machine gun, holo-sight. 60 round belt. Zombie asshole all up in my face. Shot a couple of 3" groups of 30 round each into zombie vital areas. Let him for un-dead. Like watering the lawn...if the water was the sweat from Chuck Norris' scrotum and the lawn were utterly destroyed by the withering barrage of the hose. Awesomeness factor: 10.

$166. About 15 minutes start to finish. Had to go way out of my way to do it. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

They remember the stock market crash of '29, the Hindenberg disaster, the assassination of JFK, and the loss of two space shuttles.

They saw communists come to power in Russia, fascists in Italy, and Nazis in Germany.

The saw the Nazis and fascists beaten in total war. They watched an Iron Curtain crumble.

They remember when radio was new. They were middle-aged when television came about. They were already retired when home computers emerged.

Who wants to be 110? None of us, really. But, if you could be that age and still be lucid, think of how much of human existence you would've seen. We're all dead in the long run, of course. But I can't help but feel that these supercentenarians got a much bigger dose of the human experience than most of us are likely to. And isn't there a kind of wealth in that?

So in the long run, threads like this are worthless and are nothing more than excuses to engage in more Christian-bashing, where certain among us use harsh language to admonish us to be gentle.

These people who think Christians ought to be touchy-feeling and mushy-mouthed have absolutely no clue as to Christ and the apostles acted. Maybe if you actually read the New Testament once instead of allowing morons like Dawkins or Hitchens tell you what they think it said, you might gain some insight and not speak as a fool on issues you knoW nothing about.

That's why folks like us who have been around the block a few times and who have been at this for a while are so unimpressed with criticisms like this. Honestly, they wouldn't keep awake enough long enough to be a bother. I've dealt with REAL critics in real life who had some clue as to what they were talking about and who raised some actual issues, unlike the amateur atheists and Tom Paine-wannabes that infest boards like this.

Long ago, there was no such thing as homelessness. If someone was homeless, they went and lived in a cave, or built a home out of makeshift branches or dead trees or lived under a bridge.

Now that we are a civilized society, we can no longer tolerate this. Homes must be built with heat, electricity, you must cut your lawn and weed your garden, you cannot park your car in your yard, it must be built out of modern day space-age materials that is 50 parts eco-friendly and 50 parts tree-hugging. It must be approved by an association of some kind.

This makes it so people either have to spend a lot of money for shelter, or do without. No longer can they prop two pieces of wood against a mountain, drape a blanket over it, and call it a home. No, that land is a national park, or belongs to a government entity that says you cannot live here.

And if someone does actually make a makeshift house, it is torn down the next day. I think there are even laws about living in your vehicle. So the options become either pay tens of thousands for a house, rent it, go live with the rest of the bums and hobos in the shelter (if there is one) or be homeless.

I believe basic shelter is a human right. What I DON'T believe in, however, is shelter in the middle of the most convenient location that *I* want, to the specifications *I* desire, to be bought at a prices that *I* can afford, is a human right at all.

We need to lower our standards. Tons of people in Mexico live in landfills. Not an ideal situation, but at least they have shelter, right? Why is this not allowed in the USA?

I could, but why would I fix the result of massive, systemic corruption?

For that matter, why would being all-powerful automatically mean I must advance the interests of all nations equally? Suppose I just serve the interests of the U.S. when it pleases me to do so, like a Doc Manhattan or something.

If anything, my manipulations of world affairs would attend to the things that annoy me and ignore the things that did not, or rather, help people I decide deserve it. Maybe I wouldn't fix the Mexican economy, but the individual, innocent (because I'm now all-knowing and can distinguish these things) families would suddenly find themselves with all the necessities of life heaped on them.

Maybe do something similar with Israel/Palestine. Lock down the real-estate in it's present form, make sure everyone has the food/shelter/medical care they need, and continually disarm anyone with terroristic inclinations.

And those delightful African nations where rape is a celebrated pastime would be in for a rude awakening. Likewise for all the cowardly shitsacks throughout the world who like to commit those kinds of brutal assaults. Maybe I'd hijack all broadcast media, somehow project myself to all groups in all languages and announce to the world that you are done doing shit like that to each other, that nothing escapes my gaze and the moment you attempt it you will die in agony. And then I'd follow the fuck through with it. Sure, I'd have to deal with the fallout of breaking up families and removing a wage-earner because someone was a piece of shit child molestor or something.

But I'd at least build a world devoid of rape, murder, and starvation. People might not like me, because there would also be incidents of cars suddenly dying because the driver was acting like an idiot, or cell phones turning to dust in restaurants and movie theaters, but that's part of the package, fuckers.
