You should feel thankful if it's not any worse than that. $2 billion is the going rate for a new MLB baseball stadium.
I have no idea how they arrived at this number but appparently this is going to cost the city of Vancouver $242 million just for “security”
That's also ridiculous and exorbitant, but the difference being is that at least Tampa will have something to show for the $2-billion. Come the end of July, none of the FIFA host cities will have anything left except for a big tax bill and, in a likelihood, a hit to the local economy.
The Tampa deal is not as bad as some proposals I've seen since it involves a badly needed new campus for the community college and has promise of helping revitalizing what has been for years a red light district. The problem is that the team is trying to stampede the governments involved to rubber stamp the deal. What's really interesting is that the team is touting the increase in property values. The only problem with that is that DeSantis is pushing the idea of doing away with property taxes.
During the 96 Olympicss Atlanta got "rid" of the homeless problem by arresting the homeless and giving them one way bus tickets, for the World Cup Atlanta is going with different strategy. Some restaraunts are also adding mandatory tips to their bills for the World Cup, some already have them but are increasing the mandatory tip.
because so long as the teams are evenly matched, watching two of the worst is pretty much the same as watching two of the best?
The referee delayed the restart of the opening match after the water break (which shouldn't be a thing) because Fox Sports were still showing ads. That said, the Azteca is amazing and should be where the final is.
The only problem with it is the pollution is so bad that players risk getting black lung after a couple of matches.
Note to self: Convince India NOT to host the World Cup because pollution there is awful. Point in favor for my campaign: India much prefers Cricket.

Good news/bad news: USA smoked Paraguay. Not a surprising win, but what is surprising is how well they played. The nucleus has been cultivated for years with top talent playing in the top European leagues with MLS acting as a pipeline. Thanks to the totally not rigged and honest draw the Americans ended up with a relatively weak group (although I'm sure Bailey will be watching with great interest on Friday) and should advance to the knockout rounds and might make a deep run. That's good except that the better they do, the more Dear Leader will want to hitch his wagon to it.
So I don’t Ablo the Spaniel but I am pretty sure Century Link is just gonna be La Casa del Grunge from now on.
