Including armed violence against those he deemed to be supporters of the far right...

He was also criticized for being “too soft” and worrying about hurting the feelings of the Brits.

    Bullshit.
Clinton and Carter were basically "Reagan lite" (Carter was obsessed with austerity to a fault) but the Dems before that, back to the Depression, were very much solid new Dealers.
Obama had a nice new Deal vision but was undermined by caution and accommodation so he didn't actually govern all that far to the left.

The fact is that what you call "move to the left" is moving BACK to where FDR, JFK, LBJ were after having moved to the RIGHT for the last 40+ years (McGovern and Reagan terrified them). Warren, for example, is very much in line with the new Deal, and even AOC is just marginally to the left edge of that way of thinking.
Conservatism always claimed New Dealism was extreme socialist danger (see Reagan's '61 speech re Medicare) but that was, and remains, bullshit.

let me be the one to clue you in that the literal last thing that defines anyone is "what's between their legs"

Only right wingers influanced by Christian faux Puritanism are obsessed with genitals as determinative of anything

While I agree with you that that is not what defines a person, it is by no means the "last thing" that defines a person, and even less the "literal" last thing that defines a person.

Other things that do not define a person, by any means:
    - the color of their skin
    - the color of their eyes
    - the "stars they were born under"
    - their neighbors
    - the town they live in
    - a book they checked out at the school library when they were in third grade
    - what their grandfather liked for breakfast
    - whether or not their neighbor's cousin's best friend has a dog
    - ...

Need I go on? Feel free to make your point that a person is not defined by their biological sex, but do so without saying that that is the very least important thing that could be used to "define" them.

And please avoid abusing the word "literal" when what you are saying is not even close to literal.

Let's be honest, has it EVER been about qualifications when it comes to VP? The job requires for her to cast a tie breaker vote in the Senate and to succeed Biden if he passes in office. She's been a U S Senator so I'd say she has the qualifications

this reminds me of all the people on Twitter who kept saying I shouldn't want Warren as VP because she has so much more power as a senator - but how powerful a VP is - and by implication how qualified they need to be - derives from how much the president gives to them. I mean yes, ultimately, we might have been in some trouble if Dan Quayle had ever became president, but what it means to do the job of VP has been growing in reach and importance (and thus need for a skilled occupant) since Mondale was VP. Reportedly Mondale refused to take the job unless Carter gave him real power and influence and all since him - save Quayle? - have been relatively more influential than their predecessors (potentially Pence, too, is an exception but I think that's just a reporting thing - smart money says all the social conservative shit, except the race stuff which is Miller's fiefdom, is 100% Pence, as well as a big role in the judges, so maybe he has his "beyond the strict parameters of the job" role too)

That's why you don't go with the "stunt casting" like Abrams or Buttigieg, you want someone you can task to get shit done. Personally, I'm open about Harris but remain not entirely convinced that she has that skill set. She's certainly been a good senator but I'm not sure she has a core vision that you want in someone who's in a powerful leadership role.

Sounds like the same kind criticisms that were leveled at Harry S Truman.

I wouldn't be surprised but that was back in the "warm spit" days so I assume it had specifically to do with conducting the war if/when something happened to FDR

When you're as crooked as Trump, agreeing to spill your guts to Bob freaking Woodward is... special, to say the least.

Twenty years ago, there was a local disappearance case that was constantly in the news. The victim was a local artist and the prime suspect was her husband. The only reporter the husband would talk to was a guy who made his name cracking a murder case 20 years before. And this reporter concealed evidence from the police in order to prevent the competing paper in town from getting the story first. Why would you talk to that guy? And yup, the husband was found guilty and is serving life in prison.

Hale’s opponent is a shrink who was re-elected after the voters found out that he slept with several of his patients, illegally prescribed addicting drugs to them and others, as well as forced his mistresses to get abortions.
