I can go with that.
Everyone who has ever said "How dare you talk about her working for a group that advocated torturing gays into being straight? That was 15 whole years ago!"
And if you need an example, just visit any Facebook thread.
Weeeeeelllll, after withdrawing his endorsement of Trump in 2016, he endorsed Clinton, so it seems likely he's been made familiar with the concept.
That said, I believe his endorsement of Gabbard is sincere, given previous uncorroborated reports that he'd spoken well of her. I also believe her rejection of that endorsement, particularly given how fast it came (no pretending she didn't know who he was). That said, there are still so many things wrong in her history (and recent history at that) that I find her completely unacceptable regardless.
I'm not on Facebook, but her record shows her support for the LBGTQ community.
Posts 171, 183, and 184, plus the whole supporting conversion therapy thing.
Well Elizabeth Warren apologized for claiming she was an Indian because of the DNA test but she's always claimed that in previous things, like Harvard hiring her, that she never claimed she was an Indian.
Now this has come out:
It is legitimate.
Her office doesn't deny it.
So why is anyone to believe that she didn't use Native American again for other jobs? There can no longer be any doubt that she herself was claiming Native American status at the time.
From the Washington Post story:
She's done for.
Why would David Duke, a leader of the white supremacy movement, support a non-white woman for President?
I’m guessing he actually fears Tulsi Gabbard’s candidacy and is trying to ruin her image by ‘supporting her’.
He’s plenty smart enough to know that publicly supporting her will lead to a decline in her popularity.
He’s evil but he’s not stupid.
Also, there’s a MSM smear campaign against her. This is what MSDNC did to Bernie and what Fox did to Ron Paul in 2012.
She may not win but it sure ad fuck won't be because of this.
I do find it vastly entertaining that right wingers are so scared of her they try to turn this nothing story into "but her emails!!!" 2.0
It’s not a nothing story. Only idiots like you think that.
I’m having a good time laughing at her.
I wouldn’t say Warren’s goose is cooked, but the oven’s been preheated and the bird is dressed, ya know? She’s Rachel Doleazel in the Senate now, though perhaps with an excuse that she thought it was true. You don’t go get a DNA test unless you’re not bluffing, or don’t think you are.
I wouldn't say she's finished but it's definitely a huge negative. But I'm pretty sure that by the time we get to Iowa, they'll all have negatives.
Your mainstream Democratic candidate may be on the way:
A big announcement? I'm thinking it will be something like this....except with the pool drained!
I'm #TeamKamala so far, but I have absolutely no problem with Amy Klobuchar. I'm not aware of any negatives, and in terms of stated positions I'm slightly more comfortable with her than Harris (I hope Harris was just fumbling on her answer to the Medicare for All question in Des Moines and doesn't actually support banning private insurance; I think adding a robust public option to the ACA to keep private insurers honest is a much better option).
My only reservation about Klobuchar is whether she has the charisma or the compelling story required to craft a narrative that will get people behind her. But if those things weren't an issue? No problem with President Klobuchar whatsoever.
Worth a read:
New numbers from Morning Consult. From December to January, Missouri, Texas and Utah flipped from positive to negative, and Nebraska went to dead even.
Not that I actually buy the idea of Utah going blue. Lots of voters who will cluck and tut-tut to make themselves feel better about supporting a twice-divorced serial adulterer who likes barging into girls' changing rooms, but who will obediently fall in line in the end.
So the major dirt on Klobuchar is that she is notorious for treating her staff like shit at times. I'm of two, or maybe three minds on this. I absolutely agree that it is a sexist double standard that a story like this would only circulate about a female candidate. Many if not most male politicians have been just as bad or worse in this area and never caught flak over it. However, part of the #MeToo reckoning has to be that for too long men with power have been able to abuse those who work for them, not just sexually but verbally and psychologically as well. How many infamous rageaholics have held enormous power in the entertainment industry? Politics has its own version of this. All in all though, we don't necessarily choose a president based on how kind and considerate he or she is toward the staff.
ZOMG, Marso v.2, it's the Kenyan birth certificate all over again -!
Add this to your claim that RBG is dead, and you're doing so well this week.
Yeah I know a couple of people that manipulated the "quota" game in the army to get promoted to E-7. One white guy was just enough native american to legally claim it and he had it added to his records. The plan worked! Whites in my MOS (Military Occupation Specialty) almost alway top out at E-6 because there aren't many leadership positions. His young no prior experience having ass got promoted with a quickness, because the army has to promote minorities ahead of everyone else. Hate the game, not the player!
One white female (females already have a minority quota advantage advantage) who was married but kept her own name (and she had a sort of darkish complexion) finally took her husbands Hispanic name and...you guessed it....got promoted immediately. When you are a "double dipper" quota NCO you would have to fuck up pretty bad to not get promoted.
Hey, everyone in my MOS knew the deal - no hard feelings! Everyone has to retire from the army eventually, and when it's time to get hired as a contractor or government worker and you got promoted ahead of people who really, really know their shit - and you sat behind a desk supervising instead of working on equipment.....you might be toast! You might have wished you stayed an E-6 and got to know the equipment inside & out.
That's not a fake. It's real. She says it's real.
She's also said there is more stuff out there where she put Native American or American Indian.
So how is it fake?
Never claimed it.
Made a joke. Used a smilie. Was quite clear it was a joke.
Not my fault you're stuck on stupid.
THIS, y'all, is what's real.
Anyone who can listen to all this and think "yeah, let's talk about that one form she filled out 30 years ago" literally doesn't deserve to be listened to on any political subject ever for the rest of their lives. Now you can certainly disagree with any given priority she lays out here - I'm sure the right wingers here will probably stroke out about a lot of them - but the idea that there's this much ACTUAL meat out there to process and react to, and some folks are going to ignore all this and divert to "but her DNA!!!!"? Such an argument can't possibly be taken seriously.
For me (she takes the mike at 1:28 proceeded immediately by about 11 minutes of JK3) this is 45 minutes of absolute gold, and an ambitious aspirational recitation of concrete goals backed by actual proposals on how to get there, the likes of which I've never seen or heard of in my lifetime. This is radical, in the best sense of the word, vision and I'm 100% here for it.
Call it a gut feeling, Klobuchar will win the nomination.
Her campaign is already sputtering.
Go find someone else.
My preference would be Tulsi Gabbard but the media will never give her airtime because of her anti-war positions.
But she still has lots of time to get her name out there. I think Sanders should step aside and push her forward.
Klobuchar is very close to my own policy preferences, and I would like to see her as president, but I don't know that she can present a compelling and memorable enough narrative to emerge from the pack.
Okay, so there are now nine candidates in the race ... and yet every single poll continues to ask about Bernie and Biden, who aren't in the race.
There is no shortage of big names or qualified candidates in the field, which includes no less than five sitting members of the U.S. Senate. And yet pollsters continue trying to insert these two almost-octagenarians into it. Is the idea of a race without any old white men really that hard to handle?
Bernie would make a good VP to a younger candidate, or continue to raise hell in the Senate and on the road. Biden ought to stay home and spend time with his grandkids, IMO.
Separate names with a comma.
