Carlos Mencia? We've all heard of a win-win scenario but this has lose-lose-lose written all over it.

It's very telling that Liberal twitter is blasting Bernie for not denouncing Joe Rogan, when Rogan claims the Biden, Warren and Buttigieg campaigns all wanted their candidates to appear on his show. Seems like a transparent attempt to neutralize Bernies win there, at the cost of alienating Rogan and his supporters that might never give Democrats the time of day otherwise. A shortsighted and petty move.

It's funny how it's "blue no matter who!" until it looks like Bernie's within range of the nomination. I expect if Bernie keeps this up, we'll start to see how he's tied to Russia or some stupid underhanded shit like that.

For liberals who are against Bernie receiving Rogan's endorsement, it's not that most of them care about the LGBT community, or that Rogan is P R O B L E M A T I C, it's that Bernie needs to be smeared as often as possible lest it's found that there are Republicans, Independents, and Democrats who like him. So this will be a major issue for those people. For those of us who know Bernie's history with the LGBT community (fought against anti-gay legislation in the 1970s, officiated a Vermont gay pride parade in 1984, also gave full access to healthcare and housing benefits for same sex partners and transgender persons in 1984), we know where he stands and we're not fooled by the pearl clutching.

Well technically the guy who honeymooned in the USSR is more likely than any other candidate to be tied to Russia. ;)

    :nyer:

Seriously, though, I'd love to visit Russia. Right now, though, there's just too much anti-gay sentiment, anti-intellectualism, too much cracking down on civil rights, it wouldn't be very safe. I mean, the U.S. is doing that here, but I'm a citizen here so I at least have the veneer of accessing my rights.

It is interesting to see someone talk about the media manipulating the shallow for attacking Warren and then totally being manipulated when it comes to their rabid hatred for Bernie.

You seriously don’t want to visit Russia right now, unless you like your snot freezing on your upper lip and wearing three or four layers of clothes and basically covering except your eyes just so you can go outside.

I have to say I do enjoy the brisk feeling of walking through a warm (relative) snow with few clothes on. Not spending all day in it, but the right cold in the morning does get the blood pumping. I do miss that a bit, but not enough to go back to where the snow stays around for more than a day or two. I know there is a bit of cruelty to it, but I do wish my grandparents would kick so I could move somewhere that is not southern florida because I do miss cold. I really wish my grandmother would stop btching about all the people around here because the only reason I am around this many people is because the family has been sucked into the vortex of floriduh because my sister had to set up roots in this horrible place. It would figure that she would get along with all the false kardashian type white trash around here.

Reports are starting to trickle out that Obama is going to come out against Bernie Sanders.

This might cause a huge rift in the party. Of course I support Obama coming out and just slapping Bernie left and right while saying no. Rile up the Bernie Bros. :ramen:

The smart move would be for Obama to stay out of it because no matter what he does it would be bad. Attack Bernie and watch his supporters not vote if Bernie loses the nomination OR don't attack Bernie but he probably wins the nomination and still goes down in flames in the general election.

If Bernie supporters think he was cheated you're going to see that number who won't vote blue no matter what climb.

If impeachment doesn't end early w quick vote to "not convict," both Sanders and Warren are most negatively impacted (especially if Sen votes to question witnesses), while Biden and Mayor Pete are most helped.

Agree with you, the press and party will sabotage Bernie from every angle possible. 2016 saw the surge of "outsider" popularity and the establishment really hates Bernie almost as much as Trump.

In Iowa all four front runners show at least 15% which means they'd get some delegates - Paladin predicted a while back about brokered convention - and Karl Rove a smart guy about politics has been tracking this, he opined recently that if Klobo. doesn't break 15%, her backers most closely match the two moderates at top.

The Dems could find themselves with a Weekend at Bernie's living corpse candidate called Biden, which means his VP pick, Sen Harris? (who's practically Hillary 2.0, for what it's worth), could end up Trump's opponent in 2020, once word finally leaks out that Biden died in late 2019.

I'm old enough to remember what happened when one party thought they knew who was the best candidate they should run against and did everything they could to help make that happen.

Joe rogan does not have any claim on Bernie's idealism. Idf it were another candidate I would wonder, but bernie is bernie. If rogan thinks Bernie is going to adopt some of his more conservative dumbassery he has another thing coming. Now if it was Biden, Butgag, or I guess warren perhaps we would have to worry that they would adopt a different stance because of the rogan MMA crazies, but not Bernie.

Of course obama will come out against Bernie. Obama is part of the Biden/Clinton group and he has been paid and supported heavily by them to do that. However, this is Bernie Sanders and the reality is he has a reputation about fighting against racism and just because Obama says so is probably not going to sway the people who are happy that Bernie is the only candidate to give time to people like BLM. I am pretty sure Obama coming out for Biden, which we know is who he is going to get his endorsement, is going to flop and give another chance for Bernie to run his ads reminding people Biden is the MBNA senator who stood with republicans against things like Bussing.

AH, but no one is sayingthe "Bros" are typical or the majority of Bernie's supporters.

"Bernie Bros" refer to a specific subset, found mostly on Twitter (can't speak for Instagram but it's much worse on Twitter than Facebook) who are overwhelmingly hostile, antagonistic, mean-spirited, condescending, and stalkery - basically a lot the the GamerGate Bros so I've been told.

It's not unlike Hillary's "deplorables" - the context makes clear she wasn't se\peaking of all or even most Trump supporters, but Trump's supporters instantly rolled with "So you think EVERY person who votes for Trump is deplorable?!?!?!?"

    No. Same with "Bernie Bros."

"when Rogan claims the Biden, Warren and Buttigieg campaigns all wanted their candidates to appear on his show"

    Carries basically zero weight.

Also, I haven't seen anyone really saying "renounce and denounce him" - rather just "Why the fuck did you lean into it?"

News flash - no serious fan of Rogan's who's not a lefty just slumming (i.e. the sort of dudes who love Trump BECAUSE he's an egotistical asshole bully, not in spite of it) is available to Bernie's campaign or any other. They already HAVE their perfect avatar. Moreover, it's not zero sum. How many votes in his overall progressive cohort (within the crowd who intends to vote Democrat at all) will Bernie lose while chasing the fantasy that Rogan can put a lot of votes in his pocket?

to be fair a LOT of progressives bitched at her about THAT too - so much so she had to defend herself on her show.
