Not bad for less than 3 years!

Good thing we don’t need coherence in our defense and foreign policies.

    Seen on Reddit:

"Trump is running his administration the same way H.H.Holmes built his murder mansion in Chicago, lots of different contractors hired and fired to avoid any individual one of them knowing the full extent of the overall fucked up plan."

There may be some truth to that. :marathon:

Only thing more remarkable than Trump's turnover is how much you need some Trumpification. Pace yourself - don't want to peak too soon, and it's looking like the Dems won't select a candidate capable of beating Trump. They might not even have one in the pack. And with another 13 months to go, TDS could do some serious harm to your mental well being.

Unless you're just fuckin around or venting frustrations, in which case it's all good.

You got razor focus on a tree, man.

Domestically the most important variable is the economy. Economy's fine to stellar.

Internationally the most important thing is war. We have fewer wars, and the short list is shrinking.

And the vast majority thinks the country's improving not deteriorating. You just have too limited a field of view.

Three years of "the sky is falling" and all we can find are a few acorns scattered around the ground.

It's a very sad day when money justifies evil.

That being said, how's the national debt?

Nobody said anything about "money," you just brought that up. Surely you appreciate the importance of a job to one's feeling of self worth? And there is no "evil" outside of (possibly) the people who warped your view of reality into a twisted mess that apparently thinks America is now "evil."

As to spending and debt, fucker's spending like a Frenchman. Sadly that wasn't one of the things Trump promised to do anything about.

And aside from you guys, Greece and a couple of others, too little spending on military among our "allies" means US must spend more to pick up the slack. So at least the excessive spending is directed at the one single thing that the US fedgov *should* be spending money on - defense.

If the economy is not about money, what is it? You're getting richer, that's consistently been your defence of the Trump administration, regardless of the moral compromises or the damage being done.

He may well have made no promises about debt, but where does that leave you down the line? Do you really see a future being built here or is it just someone throwing fiscal responsibility away to make himself look good? Is this really a capable player or just someone who's learnt through life how to throw money at problems?

As for military spending, what exactly do you need to defend against? You do know the wall's going nowhere fast and "defence" seems to be nothing more than defence against children seeking refuge from the crime gangs you yourselves fund?

No, Americans have jobs. People that have steady work are healthier (not just a physical thing).

As to the specifics I've mentioned from time to time of the strong (to spectacular) economic growth in south Texas, the purpose was two-fold. First, to refute claims that the economy wasn't growing. Second, to point out how much better my employees are now doing thanks to a slowdown in new, imported, unskilled worker competition. Personally (selfishly) I don't like the uptick in wage costs, but personally (to the benefit of my country and EEs) I'm glad to see the lowest workers in the chain finally doing proportionately better than they have in several decades.

I also like to mock the word "moral" when used inappropriately by a leftist - sorry, you fit the bill. They're all equally immoral, you just have the limited viewpoint that I mentioned earlier so your blind spot thinks the left are virtuous.

Trump's revealed that lie (to those paying attention). That's one of the positive things he's done to make me appreciate his gifts.

I agree that the markets are doing okay and unemployment is incredibly low, but with the manufacturing sector contracting, the agriculture sector struggling, GDP fluctuating, business investments slowing, wacky yield curves, and the Fed cutting interest rates again, I'm not sure I'd call it "fine to stellar". If it is that great, why is Trump calling for negative interest rates?

<< strong (to spectacular) economic growth in south Texas>>

Maybe I could've added "personally observed." Spot's referring to a couple of specific times I replied to him on this point. The conversation ranged from the general to the specific. As to generally, and more broadly, you raise real issues. We can dicker about whether a hit to GDP is worth the trade war and fixing a complex but broken relationship with China, and other factors.

But when I raised this topic - the broad brush of US politics - and the top line items domestically and overseas, I bottom-lined it: the US economy is good. That was the starting point. The specifics came later, because he raised past conversations.

They do, but that trend was already in play. Unemployment has continued to drop under Trump following the trend established under Obama. The best you can say without establishing some a priori reason the transition should have coincided with a slow down is that Trump has done nothing to undo Obamas' good work there.

I find Muslim bans, rampant racism and sexism, pandering to the bible belt, overt corruption, threats of societal collapse should he be held to account and, yes, kids in cages to be outside my concept of "moral".

He has given you no gifts, he's taken and taken but the fact you have coincidentally profited along the way allows you to overlook the fact that he is a narcissistic, corrupt, self serving, morally and intellectually bankrupt gangster who is increasingly unable to function on a basic level.

The economy is good in the same way I'd be "rich" if I spent every penny of my life savings on sports cars and prostitutes. Fuck tomorrow.
