On this day, we remember the friends and members of @El Chup's family who lost their lives on that terrible day 18 years ago.

Y'know, because he always made this day about him.

(I can't think of a more fitting Wordforge tribute...)

Hells yeah. It was a running joke in every 9/11 memorial thread.

Chup (rest his soul) would get all fired up about anyone that said anything remotely controversial about 9/11, because they didn't understand the loss of loved ones.

How dare people not like america's pity party day. We are all victims on this day because we had to see pictures on TV of americans we didn't know dying in 2001. We don't give a fuck about seeing foreign people die on other days, but we watched it happen to people we didn't know and will never know while we sat safely in our living rooms. So now we clutch our emotional support dogs and we all get to be our own special little victims over an incident we were all safe from.

    Never forget the pity party.

It’s true. Literally half his family worked in tower one’s janitorial services for a Jewish jeweler. They were all killed trying to mop up the dust and debris left by the plane strike all while trying to gather up the precious precious gems. They were the best cheap labor the UK could import.

As far as I'm aware he (and possibly @Lt. Mewa ) is the only WFer among us who actually did have a personal connection to 9/11.

Obnoxious twat waffle that he was, I don't begrudge him not joining in on the memes and jokes and lulz.

Too bad Trump couldn't get his "peace" conference organized sooner. Otherwise he could have formally surrendered to the Taliban today after giving them a tour of ground zero. :borg:

Remember when the right was so livid that time Obama bowed in respect to the King of Saudi Arabia and said he was spitting on the graves of 9/11 victims?

One of my sisters IRS coworkers was in NYC on 9-11 for some kind of meeting. He was just leaving a restaurant in WTC North Tower when a piece of debris (I heard it was an aircraft engine compressor blade flattened him. It broke literally every bone in his body from his neck to his ankles. He lived about a month before succumbing to his injuries. Long enough that his family was able to see him before he died.

OMG the pity party is having a meltdown because some blonde chick wore a dress they did not like when she tweeted her 9/11 message from NY. Most of the whining people demanding her respect for the day are from southern states.

9/11 mourners who did not lose anyone need to just light themselves on fire for our amusement.

No, Rosie just doesn't leave the cake alone long enough for the candle to burn that far down.

That's not fat-shaming, btw - who the fuck is leaving cake uneaten that long?

The cake reminds me of the lady at Augusta who didn't want me to show any video footage of the attacks on the World Trade Center as according to her "no one shows videos anymore".

Instead she suggested I have my students build paper models of the WTC towers.

I said, "what then? Want me to have them set it on fire?".

I was on my way out in at the end of that school year.
