    Yeah, dammit.

It's still $53-million short. Don't think it's gonna make it.

They could re-release it in month's time with the deleted footage of the lesbian threesome between Captain Marvel, Black Widow and Gamora.

I was so disappointed when I found out what they were actually planning with the Black Widow solo movie.

It finally dropped out of the top ten box office this weekend.

It was also revealed a few days ago that the digital release is scheduled for July 30, with a Blu Ray release on August 13.

    Still $46 million short.

Not going to dethrone Avatar. :(

Incredible as it sounds, the record for actual number of tickets sold (a record in no danger of being broken) goes to a movie from 1939: Gone with the Wind. When you consider how big modern theaters are, and how many there are, you realize that GWTW must've played to packed houses for months, even years. People in the past spent a lot more time at the movies than we do.

GWTW was huuuuge! My mom was born in 1947, but it was her favorite movie. Wizard of Oz came out that same year by the same director and same studio. Those two movies are beloved by the boomers and the generation right before the boomers. So yeah, Gone With the Wind will hold it's record. That movie is probably the biggest factor for how and why the south got romanticized.

Still haven't seen it. I've mentioned it before, but I'm more or less burned out on the Marvel movies. And I can't even remember which is the last one I watched in the theater or at home. I probably won't even watch it until it comes out on a streaming service, or through one of the cable networks. Between my Xfinity and streaming services and my sister's Uverse we both have access to pretty much every way to watch movies or TV shows.

I get that, I didn't go to see Ant-Man & The Wasp or Black Panther and I still haven't seen Captain Marvel. Endgame is a huge deal though.

True, but I think I've pretty hit the point where I don't really care enough to run out and see every new Marvel film. It just seems over saturated to me. But seeing how I feel about the Marvel films, it does make me realize that having a Star Trek film every year or two may also cause an over saturation as well. I do remember starting to get a bit bored of Star Trek when there were two series on the air for 7 years, and a Star Trek series for a continuous 14 years.

Star Trek films are probably no longer going to be special because they probably will either be reboots of TOS and TNG or it won't be tied to a tv cast.

No one ever said you had to.
I let a lot of shows fall by the wayside to pay attention other shows, then I binge the ones I let slip by months later.

Personally, I can't fathom getting "burned out on", Marvel movies.
    It's just a math thing.
It's three a year, they're spaced out pretty far apart, it's not a gigantic crushing time commitment.

And you've got a million other choices of movies/shows in-between those three a year to wash the Marvel flavor out of your mouth with.

I could could see if there were an all-MCU channel that marathon-ed 'em 24/7, and it was the only channel your TV got, and the TV had robot legs so it could chase you around.
But, none of the ingredients of that scenario are a thing in the world.

Yeah, but look at when Star Trek movies were "special".
The period of the first 4 movies when there was no show on, and everyone was starved for every morsel of Trek.

Now, if you're starving, and I give you a little graham cracker every day, those graham crackers are gonna be really fucking special.
    But you know what?
I'd rather you have a whole box of graham crackers, and get bored with them.
Plus a salad, and a piece of meat, and a glass of milk, and an apple.

    I'd rather feast than famine.
Being nostalgic for famine is some Stockholm syndrome shit.

I'd rather have TWOK, TVH, TUC, FC levels of quality every ten or twenty years than Into the Darkness quality movies every year or two years.

Maybe, just maybe, I don't live my life just for movies. So yeah, I'm not going to have a stroke fest every time a new Marvel movie comes out. No one makes me go, it's my choice. And my choice isn't to care for something I've pretty much lost interest in.

    That's just dumb.
You wouldn't have gotten TWOK, TVH, TUC, or FC if they weren't pulling the slot machine lever every couple years.
Waiting a long time doesn't make things better.
Just look at Independence Day 2.

Let's look at their batting average.
    13 movies so far.
TFF, INS, NEM, ST:ID are indisputably clunkers.
TMP, TSFS and ST09 are about down the middle.
TWOK, TVH, TUC, FC, and ST:B are exceptional.

I dunno about you, but I like those odds.
Where's this decade of horrible movies that happened?
    I missed it, and I wasn't asleep.

    I liked ST:ID. I liked it quite a bit more than ST:B.

Kevin Feige says that A:EG is going to be re-released in theaters with "additional footage".

I guess they really want that box office record.

I read that it's an after credits scene and there's some kind of tribute.

I admire Marvel's spirit, but it's not going to put Endgame over the top unless they can put it out on a weekend with a REALLY lame set of new releases.

There's been word for awhile that there's a scene with Luis from Ant-Man re-telling the whole story of the MCU.
It was something they were saving for the Blu-Ray, but I bet that's it.
