well played Mitch - that's a good way to know who you can trust in the future. I've done that at work a time or two.
Those kinds of things don't get out by accident. Then there's this: Trump, House GOP Relationship Suddenly Deteriorates The relationship between President Trump and top House Republicans rapidly deteriorated Tuesday, as the president's personal attorney attacked the GOP House leader and a member of caucus leadership, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), after she said she would vote to impeach Trump in the aftermath of last week's Capitol riots. House GOP leadership is not lobbying members to vote against the impeachment article in another clear sign of the growing differences. Just last week, hours after a pro-Trump mob attacked the Capitol, the top two House GOP leaders, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) and Minority Whip Steve Scalise (La.), voted to back Trump in throwing out the Electoral College votes of two states, Arizona and Pennsylvania. McCarthy, who has come under broad criticism for how he handled last week's events, reportedly sparred with the president on Monday when Trump floated the conspiracy that it was antifa, and not right-wing extremists and his own supporters, who stormed the Capitol last week. McCarthy told Trump that was not the case, according to Axios. The House GOP leader then told members of his conference on a call that the riot at the Capitol was not caused by antifa, but that it was led by right-wing extremists and QAnon adherents. He urged lawmakers not to further spread misinformation.
A samurai has earned his manbun. The rest of you look like idiots. Although it isn't usually the manbun that gives you away.
my hair still reaches halfway down my back when the humidity here is taking the summer temperature over 40c, I'm not standing on preconceptions of masculinity.
BLM vs Capitol protests: This was the police response when it was Black protesters on DC streets last year (msn.com) fuck you race-baiters at CNN. Maybe in the Wednesday riot they didn't have time (or never saw the need at the time based on previous missions) to pre-position the security elements. Ever think of that you tactical geniuses? Also the Wednesday rioters are getting identified, rounded up and charged with a fucking QUICKNESS with many of them facing Federal charges that can escalate into multiple Federal charges as the plot thickens. I think it's up to 160+ people charged so far. Please go bankrupt CNN you fucking hacks.
thus since I can't have a manbun, in protest I buzz my hair down to first day of basic training length. I did the Tony Soprano comb back for years until my hairline completely gave up the ghost.
CNN is about 5 days behind everyone else with this observation. The cops may have been unprepared, but given the pipe bombs that were apparently set up as a diversion a half klick away, the terrorists were very prepared.
He had the Molotovs (if I am talking about the same guy) in the bed of his truck. If he got in a wreck his truck would go up like a Pinto getting rear-ended.
Pence Reached His Limit With Trump. It Wasn’t Pretty. “You can either go down in history as a patriot,” Mr. Trump told him, according to two people briefed on the conversation, “or you can go down in history as a pussy.”
yes now I remember. Red pickup truck and they also found an AR in the bed . I never heard about the actual pipe bombs. Wow lots of potential destruction avoided!
damn look at Trump keepin' it real up in this joint! I guess Trump is off's Pence's Christmas card list after that encounter.
From what I read the earliest anything could possibly happen is the 19th, unless Mitch agrees to call the senate back early? That would be a wild end to the Trump era, impeached with one day left.
Impeachment will likely happen by this time tomorrow. The earliest the Senate trial could start would be the 19th.
Is that the earliest it could start, or is this a case of McConnell saying "that's just how it is" when he's the one who decided to make it that way?
I believe that's when the Senate is scheduled to go back into session, though McConnell could reconvene it sooner. Trial or not, the 19th will be the turtle's last day as majority leader.
DOJ looking at possible felony sedition charges for some rioters who stormed US Capitol "We're looking at significant felony cases tied to sedition and conspiracy...And these are significant charges that have felonies with a prison terms of up to 20 years."
It's a power-play by Mitch. For years now, he's been the most powerful man in DC in many respects. If he doesn't take steps to keep that power, then he'll quickly find himself a forgotten man. So, he's signaling that he's willing to break some kneecaps if someone tries to shift him out of power. He's also probably worked out a deal with Pelosi where he gets something that he wants in exchange for this.
