Obama, Trump, Hillary Clinton, both Bushes and JFK combined: 573,178,118

    Biden: 81,268,757

I'm not entirely sure, because math isn't allowed in the Red Room, but I think 573 million is a tiny bit larger than 81 million.

So, to answer your question: He didn't.

There's precident for this, anyhow: It was Lyndon B Johnson or FDR's VP who was sworn in on a plane after their predicesor (sic) passed on so, so it's not unusual.

We can call up one of those shithole African countries for advice on how to do it.

What I find amazing is how in 2016 either candidate would have been just as bad, I mean what are the odds!

He's not lying, he's just stupid. He probably saw a right wing meme somewhere ("BIDEN GOT MORE VOTES THAN EVERY PRESIDENT IN US HISTORY COMBINED AND THERE'S NO FRAUD?!?!?!) and is half-assedly repeating it. Because he's stupid.

In this case I think it's just a misuse of the word combined to mean "more than any of those names".

Even giving him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't mean "combined," there's a pretty easy three part explanation for why Biden got more votes than anyone who had run for president before:

    1. Trump was historically polarizing as a candidate (to put it nicely)
    2. There are likely more voting-eligible Americans than ever before.
    3. The expansion of the ability to vote early and to vote via mail-in ballot made it simpler for eligible voters to cast their votes than in previous elections.

All good points, there are just so many fundamentally broken things about what OF claims that I think it's worth avoiding making up more.

Hillary would have been at least as corrupt as Trump, if not more. She would have been a lot better at hiding it, though. She's never been anything but a self-serving ladder climber.

You know, I won't give the idiots who showed up at the Capitol credit for much. But everyone who was there because they thought it would prevent fascism from taking over America showed more balls than your keyboard wanker ass ever did.

In the Hillary won timeline I think there's a reasonable chance that Trump is about to be inaugurated having won his second attempt at the presidency.

the situation is what it is. The diversity of experience with it arises from whether one has caught on to the con and stopped being a mark...or not.

That's the traditional model. That said what would you call the nearly complete (trending toward totally complete) control of academia, big tech, and the media? What type of "ism" would that fall under? Do you have a problem with de-radicalization of anyone who doesn't vote the way you do? You might not because you vote the accepted way, but for 75 million other people, it could be a problem. Just sayin'

I'm aware of all that but is far too pedantic for the context of his comment. My point didn't require that level of specificity (and I am nothing if not overly verbose)

I'm sorry, but I don't buy this song and dance from you any more than I do from Gym Jordan.

Republicans don't GET to criss-cross the country finding every nutter they can and setting their hair on fire until a fifth of the population thinks it's a good idea to fucking hang the VP of their own god damn party and THEN say "clearly the Democrats have work to do bringing the country together in peace and unity"

All y'all can fuck off into the sun. Peace comes AFTER accountability. The last time it was otherwise the result was a hundred years of Jim Crow (and all the happy peaceful lynchings and mob violance that came with it).

It's called "democracy." You may want to look into it. The facts are clear, whether you want to acknowledge them or not. When voter turnout is high, Democrats win. When voter turnout is low, Republicans win. Now, think about that for five minutes and get back to me.

Define your terms because de-radicalization is EXACTLY what I want. So, either you have no idea what you're talking about or you're using a different definition than the rest of us.

You want to know why I'm different from my Republican neighbors? Because I've gotten out and seen the world. I've interacted with other cultures and all socio-economic groups and I wasn't wearing an American flag on my shoulder when I did it. I say that because while I certainly appreciate your travels, they were all under the banner of being a soldier. Go spend six weeks living amongst the poor in China and then you can come back and explain how you understand a fraction of their struggles and lifestyles. Go to Africa for six weeks building schools and then come back and explain how you understand a fraction of their struggles and lifestyles.

De-radicalization starts with being around people that don't look like you, pray like you, and yes, vote like you.

When you've accomplished that, we can talk.
