I seem to recall an iteration of Abby in the comics where she had a single stripe.
With all those roots embedded in Swampy's skin, he could be considered ribbed for her pleasure.
This is just one huge troll of Alan Moore, isn't it?
Buncha Batwoman stuff.
A pic of her in the Batcave with Batman's suit.
A synopsis that would cover a whole VHS box...
And a schedule that says it'll be on Sundays alongside Supergirl.
Welp, so much for that. Might as well put a big advertising banner on it that says "AGENDA-DRIVEN HORSE SHIT HERE!"
Superheroes are SJWs.
30's Superman went after corrupt CEOs and in his radio show he went after the Klan.
Captain America punched Hitler.
Wonder Woman existing was a feminist statement.
Black Panther existing was an anti-racist statement.
This is what superheroes do.
And in the modern environment, "social justice" is a good codeword for "poorly written." Same deal as when the space battles are the reason for the show instead of good character interactions and sensible plotlines.
And I'm sure your 60's counterpart wrote angry letters about Black Panther and Falcon with similar buzzworded gibberish.
Perhaps you missed the "poorly written" part. BP and Falcon were generally written very well back in the day, at least as well as anything else in contemporary comics.
Oh, so you've seen the show before anyone else?
Can I have a ride on your time machine?
If not, can I at least have some Powerball numbers?
Look Dicky, I know you're preconditioned to jerk your knee whenever someone disparages "social justice," but the last couple of years have shown that when that becomes the driving motivation in something that's supposed to be entertainment, the quality of the writing suffers. When it's done properly it blends right in with the story, it doesn't beat you over the head with "BELIEVE AS I TELL YOU OR YOU ARE EVIL!"
Latest release of Mortal Kombat leaps to mind. That execrable Ghostbusters movie you're such a fan of. The latest iteration of Dr Who.
Say what you will about entertainment, but in our larger conversation "social justice" is a code-word for "won't someone think of the white dudes?!!?!"
Swamp Thing full trailer.
Just saw Swamp Thing episode 1.
Hmm...I like the look, and tone, and score, and the characters as they've been set up so far.
We get Swampie right at the end.
It's an Elseworld of the Alan Moore run, but there are seeds there where it might veer back into the comics.
I just wish these DC shows would drop all in a binge like the Defender-verse stuff.
Looks very CWish and of course they had to put in that SJW line at the end.
Probably should, you know...drain the swamp.
Swamp Thing is cancelled.
Damn, that was fast!
The rest of the episodes will air, but there'll be no more after that.
How can you cancel something before much of it airs?
I mean, it doesn't sound like the pilot was awful or anything.
The show is good, there's some weird behind the scenes drama going on that the studio isn't fessing up to.
contradictory stories out there about financial subsidies from NC that covered much of the production costs.
Also, mutterings of movie and TV pulling out of the south because of the abortion laws.
Pennyworth trailer and poster.
Gotta say....I already like it better than Gotham.
Okay, another trend I hate...
...making all the supporting characters badasses.
In some incarnations, Gordon's former army (Green Beret IIRC) so he's a badass.
Alfred's had several versions where he's ex-military, so he's a badass.
What's next? Aunt Harriet is a deep cover Russian assassin?
If they get a good show runner and star, I'll watch it.
