Wow. Has it been that long?

I guess he was still feeling burned from the way Futurama was treated (which was far superior to The Simpsons).

    Boring.

Three episodes in. That's my take on it. Boring.

    Finished the season.

Not impressed. It's okay but it's Season One TNG quality. Hopefully season two if there is one will be better.

    Good animation of course.

Oh yeah. After almost 20 years of watching Futurama you can not not hear the voices from a whole lot of characters in Futurama.

I have to disagree with them there. Futurama was much more polished than this in the first season. The Simpson's really improved over the years. This thing has bad timing, some weird editing goofs, and looks rough. I actually did not care much for the first episode, but I wanted to. It is not like he has not created some iconic and awesome characters that I love. Still, thinking about it aside from the Simpson's from Tracy ulman on his work had to grow on me.

I will give it time because I have liked what he has done. The Simpson's is a bit old, but I did grow up with it. It is an interesting generational show that keeps going and going. It is still going, right?

Yep, and FXX is pretty much the Simpsons marathon channel.

There were a rough season or two after the movies, and a few episodes that were just largely unfunny, and a lot of the good episodes didn't really reach the earlier seasons' cruising altitude for me.

Caught the first ep, and will watch more. It's wasn't a "must watch next one now!" episode though.

The Enchanted Forest bit was good, the Washmaster not so much and the "I'm not dead!" Prince was meh.

Backup Price was good because, well, Matt Berry, the bastard offspring of Vic Reeves and Brian Blessed.

    Yeah, that's pretty accurate.

It feels like something's missing. It's not a bad show, but it needs that shot in the arm like Danny Devito was to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (which how the hell is *that* gonna work without Dennis?)
    Theme song is dope, though.

I still gotta watch this, but I just gotta say, Futurama was rough its first season.
Like, not bad, but compared to how good it got later, really primitive in comparison.
And if the Tracy Ullman shorts of Simpsons had to be its first season, it would have been cancelled.
They got to shake out the bugs on Tracy Ullman for about three years or so before the real show kicked in.
Groening shows have always had a learning curve, and its always been worth it.

I mean, I know... But after how many seasons of Simpsons and Futurama, you think they'd be able to hit the ground running by now. Rick and Morty was top shelf right from the start, so were Brooklyn 99 and The Good Place. How come Groening can't do the same? :(
