Maternal-paternal format is also standard practice for people who choose to hyphenate in most of the English-speaking world, so I'm not sure what the confusion was.

Actually, on looking it up ... Wikipedia says the traditional naming convention in Spanish-speaking countries is paternal-maternal. (Specifically, the father's first surname followed by the mother's first surname.) Enrique Peña Nieto's mother was María Nieto Sánchez and his father was Gilberto Peña del Mazo.

Because I remember talking about this very issue in the Army between Mexican and Puerto Rico eblisted members and the Mexicans told me that was not something common in Mexico but the Puerto Ricans said it was common there. Because I am dating a Panamanian woman who told me that is not common there or in other countries which used to make up Gran Colunbia, because in my many visits to Mexico and central America I have not observed.

It is not common and only is dpne in a minority of places. Now, middle names are uncommon but that is a different matter.

Many people won't want to vote for a self admitted former member of Hamas (youth wing) which is a terrorist group. So go fuck yourself for being both an idiot and a liar.

Yes, being a former member of a terrorist group should be disqualifying, dumb ass. I said Kavanaugh shouldn't have been confirmed simply because of the allegation along with his proven lack of proper temperament but here we have a guy who admitted membership in part of a declared terrorist organization (the youth group branch) when he lived in Gaza yet we have shot stains like you still making up excuses for him. What a terrible person you are.

It was long ago provided. His excuse was that he was just a kid and it was like the boy scouts but it was the Hamas "boy scouts" and he was a teenager.

You really are a lazy bastard as the links were provided weeks ago yet you keep babbling your ignorance.

    No, it wasn't.

No, there was no excuse because it never happened. He lived in Gaza from 1997-2001 with his father, who worked for the Palestinian Authority, which at that time controlled Gaza and was the sworn enemy of Hamas! When making up baseless smears, it helps to get your facts straight first, so you at least have a basic framework.

It is amazing what he and his family write in Arabic as opposed to what he says in English to the press. There he plays up his terrorism connections, his father's membership in the PLO, his grandfather being "the legendary hero", and the 39 of his family members are "martyrs for the cause". It is a long article but excellent with links to the original posts.

None are so blind as those who refuse to see and Quest has turned refusing to see into an art form.

Read the article, not very smart one. Hell, his father, who is also a terrorist, is the one who suggested he change his name to try to pull in gullible Hispanic voters.

You actually posted that article! :rotfl: I read it this morning. This part jumped out at me:

Yes, I'd say it was quite possible he was too young, since he WASN'T EVEN BORN YET!

So you can get some idea of the reliablity of that source. However, even it recognizes that his father was affiliated with Fatah, not Hamas. :)

He claims to be Catholic but attended The Islamic School of San Diego which is run by the Islamic Center of San Diego which sponsored and hosted two of the 9/11 hijackers. The head of ICSD is a wanted terrorist in the UAE. Najjar remains active in the group despite it being labeled a terrorist group by the government of the UAE.

I suppose he should be grateful that Mossad considered the age of negative sixteen years to be "too young" to be killed, even for a terrorist. Meanwhile I have yet to read any solid link, not involving his family or his ethnicity, between Ammar Campar-Najjar and any terrorist activity.

Your reading comprehension is poor. That section is speaking about his father who was then spared by Massad.

I told you, I read the article before you posted it. It's garbage. Oooh, Campa-Najjar isn't his "real" name. He once attended a "Muslim school." His father may or may not have been named after Yassar Arafat. Who. Cares. :dayton: None of that makes him a terrorist.

The fear mongering on the right is impressive. A week or so ago a story about a right wing reporter who was wearing the world's smallest most ineffective bulletproof vest was reporting from the border where there was relatively no danger at all of being shot or shot at. He was dressed up just to make it look like he was in a war zone despite being in a safe area on the border.

They will do anything to lie about the border.

The real danger on the border are these guys.

    https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019...sassination-training-fbi-190423201042551.html

Not only are the running around playing army and detaining people, but they were also training to assassinate dem leaders as ordered by him. He is a convicted felon who impersonated police, and was in possession of many weapons. who should we be afraid of? Some woman and her kid crossing the border unarmed to find a job, or a crazy old terrorist motherfucker who is a convicted felon training to kill our leaders?

It looks like the mayor of Temecula, Dr Matt Rahn, will win the Republican primary for the 50th in March of 2020. The terrorist has already said he will run again but he couldn't win even against a guy waiting to be convicted in a year which heavily favored Dems so he is likely to lose again in 2020 as long as the Republicans field a main stream candidate. The 50th is the reddest district in the state after all.

Yep, both he and his dad are pretty much self entitled pieces of shit. All the dems had to do was run a halfway decent candidate who was either a centrist or a blue dog (the 50th is the most conservative district in the state) but they couldn't even manage that and lost what would have been a sure thing pick up. Dems are making the same mistake again with the same losing candidate.

That said, after the terrorist loses a second time hopely the turd will slink off never to be heard from again. We can all hope anyway.
