Here are my fav's - current & past - what are yours? (Maybe some of us have more than a few in common???)

    In no particular order...

nuBattlestar Galactica (but loved the old as a *kid*.)
    Doctor Who
    Life
    House
    Torchwood ('course)
    The Sarah Jane Adventures ('course)
The Big Bang Theory (The only sitcom I will watch other than...)
Spaced (Oh, and give TBBT a chance if you haven't - it's not just ragging on old, geek/nerd stereotypes for cheap yucks - which I originally thought, so passed on the show - times I watch it and think "Oh frak....THAT'S *ME*!!! I DO THAT!!!" If you are a geek, this show is ABOUT you.)
    Titus (missed that sit-comm too)
    Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Firefly (Never seemed to get into Buffy or Angel, but when Buff \y ws on it looked...kinda engrossing, but my bitch ex-wife would complain until I switched it over. :( )
The West Wing (Smartest show on TV - at least before Sorkin left...)
    Heroes (At least season one...)
    Babylon-5
    Odyssey-5 (LOL - all the 5's!)
Babylon-5: Crusade (Just needed a season to get it's bearing, IMHO.)
The Twilight Zome (Original, and late 80's - early 90's revival. I didna like the 00's revival... But the 80/90's version had some excellent episodes like "Palidan of the Lost Hour" - H. Ellison story, Danny Kaye's last performance - and a great version of "The Cold Equations" that still gives me chills today...also, the did a version of A.C. Clake's "The Star".)
    Jericho
(the old Jeremy Brett) Sherlock Holmes (Maybe I miss him!)
    Journeyman
    Northern Exposure

    Wonderfalls
    Dead Like Me
Joan of Arcadia (Yes, despite being an atheist, I enjoyed the first season quite a bit. Qlad Sci-fi is re-running it now
Picket Fences (Anyone else remember this?)
    Star Trek (TOS)
Star Trek: The Next Generation (DS9 was okay, but I never really could get into it - especially all the Ferengi stories...I liked it original with Kai Opaka, and wonder if James Earl Jones or Ro - first choices for Sisko & Kira's job - had actually been in the show, how much different it might have been.)
Star Trek: Enterprise (FINAL SEASON ONLY!!!)
SeaQuest DSV (FIRST SEASON ONLY!!! - now when a show is retooled *dumber* and crappier, I say "They pulled a Seaquest"!)
Earth: Final Conflict (again, FIRST SEASON ONLY!!! They "Pulled a Seaquest" after that. Anybpdy remember the excellent season 1 episode "Sandavol's Run"!?)
Beauty & the Beast (I;m a sap, what can I say - I even used to have the soundtrack...you know - the one's with the poetry readings by "Vincent"....)
and I kinda was getting into the VERY short lived Family Channel "Three Moons Over Milford"....gods, and I question some of you people's sexuality... :jayzus: )
And I kind like Chuck and Pushing Daisies - but I can take or leave them.

    Animated and so-forth:

    Robotech
    Futurama
    Family Guy
    American Dad

    South Park (*used* to watch)
    Robot Chicken
    The Simpsons
    (Up until about year 8... :( )
Aqua Teen Hunger Force (well, the older stuff...)
    The Boondocks (sometimes)
Baby Blues (lasted only one season, but a never-aired ANYWHERE second season was made - I'd love to see it.:( I know, it's just that as parent, I grok some of the humor..like driving all night - out of state even with that baby in the back seat, or he/she won't sleep at home!!!)

Jim Henson (a category unto himself!):
Fraggle Rock (Are the movie rumor's ture!? Dare I hope!?)
    The Muppet Show
    The Jim Henson Hour
    Jim Henson's Storyteller
    Muppets Tonight
was *okay*, but lacking Jim Hens..since his death, other than Muppet Christmas Carol and parts of Muppet Treasure Island, new Muppet stuff has been pretty lame...don't even get me started on Muppets From Space. )

Also, I like these caned way too early shows - I fely despite imperfections, they had potential:

    Surface

    Nowhere Man
    Earth 2
    Flying Blind
(And old Tea Leoni sitcom, that aire when I was first engaged on like very early UPN of something...man, that scene where she licks the sweet & sour sauce off the eggroll....I'll be in my bunk....)
I think UPN had a show about a bunch of sloppy roomates called like "Pig Sty" or something..I was getting into that....)

I am hoping that Caprica and the live action Star Wars series will be good.

And you know - bad as it was, I watched the VERY short-lived "Wolf Creek", just because I *LOVE* wolves.

Hey does anyone remember this show...about the same time UPN or CW came out with 1/3 half-hour sitcom about a guy who was like 30 who woke up again in HS and had to relive it, one of the BIG 3 networks came out with a serious version. I forget the title, but I kinda liked what little I saw, but I forget the title. I know they guy was trying to save his sister who had died in theoriginal timeline....

Now, as for non-fiction stuff...I have to run, so quickly

    Penn & Teller's: Bullshit!
    Mythbusters (Kari - *drool*)
    (As a kid) 3-2-1, Contact
    Nova
    & Nova: Science Now
The Nature of Things (This still on? - Canadian show w/ David Suzuki)
    Smithsonian World
Great Books (Old TLC show when The Learning Channel was about..well...learning, not home makeover....)
Understanding ('nother old TLC show - but found a home on The Science Channel - Great Books - doesn't fit their format, sadly. since it wasn't just science books, but ALL kinds. Great show. Walter Chronkite produced, Donald Sutherland narrated...)
    Good Eats
(The old) The Frugal Gourmet (I still cant believe the accusations about him.)
    VH1 Storytellers
    MTV Unplugged
    Soundstage
    Edge of Country
    Wide Open Country
(< & ^ both indie alt country shows)
    Crossroads
    Anthony Bourdain's: No Reservations
    & (old) Cook's Tour
    The Naked Chef
(Bit of a Jamie Oliver fan)
    Brainaic
    Iron Chef America
And sometimes...Real Time with Bill Maher, The Daily Show, & The Colbert Report, The Chasers War of Everything (Aussie show) & Marcus Bringstock (UK show). And I miss the old Tech TV shows like The Screensavers & Unscrewed & Nerd Nation G4 sucks *ass*. Wired For Sex is still on, but ALL repeats.

OH, and NO, I don't watch ALL these shows all the time - Most are gone now, and there's only a few like Doctor Who & nuBSG that I schedule time for!

    And sure I left out a few...LOL!

Come on! Add yer own! Maybe I am missing out on something. Although even though I only currently watch 5% of what I listed, it's still too much time!!!

Also, I just re-edited the above post to add some shows I missed...

Like I NEVER saw the UK Life on Mars but want too. LOST I was into at first, but it never seemd to answer *ANYTHING* so I grew tired of it.

Seen Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me, and Huff. But lost interest.

Good list. Despite my Hero Carl Sagan's ribbing of the show, Lucile Ball was a comic genius.

And I always liked Rosanne. And I will get ribbed for this, But I always had a crush on the actress who played Darlene. (Yes, Darline, not Becky #1 or #2. Too bad she's a lesbian IRL. Why do I always fall for the lesbians!?)

And if you like Rosanne, check out The Big Bang Theory. Darlene's hubby (the actor) plays one of the main characters. (Lenard?) And Darlene (the actress) has a re-occurring role. And Rosanne's sister plays Sheldon's (fundie Xtian) mother in another re-occurring role

Never seen Carnivale or Dexter or even Rome, but I do want to check them out *IF* I ever get time.

You know what, I forgot - as a kid, I loved the original British The Tomorrow People. (Not that Nick-sponsored 90's remake.) One of the first shows on Nick when they stared running real shows and not that kiddie program that ran and re-ran 24/7 (some Sesemie-Street type show that ran ALL DAY when Nick was *brand* new. In fact, the show was called "Nickelodeon".)

I always thought this would make a excellent NEW TV show, miniseries, or even BETTER, major movie.
(Loved the episode with the cryo-frozen Hitler!)

And speaking of Brit Shows - I left out Red Dwarf, and while I never saw it, I heard good things about Blake's 7 - cheese all.

I am leaving one out - tip of my brain...

I used the have the HUGEST crush on a young Felicity Kendall in Good Neighbors (not the original UK name) - those big puppy dog eyes and chubby baby cheeks - *drool* - but man, saw her in Who recently she has NOT aged well. :(

Quantum Leap was good, even if the "science" was a bit dodgy...

Now, Yes, Minister & Yes, Prime Minister were smart and often scathing (not to mention funny!) parodies - and indictments - of real government.

I think Brannon Braga's Threshold was pretty good, but CBS canned it early. He probably would have shitted it up anyway.

I still watch The Food Network's Good Eats and Boy Meets Grill. I should probably just buy the DVD sets and be done with it. Of course Nova is one of my favorites too.

Okay, I'm gonna try and minimise my list to the 'must watch every episode' shows that I absolutely have/had to buy on DVD/Blu Ray (when will season 3 of Lost come out in the UK? AGH) Yes I watch a lot more shows than this list, but these are my top faves. (Heroes is just a fave, not a top fave).

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip - Gutted when I heard that it was cancelled after just one series. Then I rewatched it all and it ended well, so I'm not sure it wasn't a good place to end.

24 - Revolutionary when it first came on. Now, it's just a solid bet for great action, and some excellent twists.

LOST - Considering it's probably still the most popular show on TV, why do I feel controversial when I include it? To be fair, yes it took them ages to start explaining things, but when things start being explained towards the end of the third season it really felt like it was worth all of the frustration.

Six Feet Under - Missed it on release, but bought the whole lot through recommendation and really enjoying being surprised at the lack of cliche. I am constantly thinking 'Oh geez, now X is gonna walk in and catch Y doing Z' only for it not to happen. Refreshing. Consequences of actions seem more internal than other shows.

Dead Like Me - A well paced slow reveal show of the 'rules' of the afterlife. Didn't they try and peg it as 'what happens after Six Feet Under'?

Stargate SG1 - A solid reliable show, and at a time when I wasn't spending time with my Mum at all, it was something we both enjoyed together.

Big Brother - Okay, not really, but kind of. Only because this year I'm good friends with one of the contestants, so there's no way I'm missing an ep. Plus I'm grabbing them all to give them to her on a set of DVDs.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace - Funny funny funny funny shit. And yet only because it doesn't have any 'jokes' in it.

Extras - I know, I know, choosing this over The Office is a travesty, but it was the ability for famous actors to ridicule themselves that was so great, and the post-modern self parody of the entire show that kept it fresh. Ian Mckellen isn't really a wizard? He was actually only pretending? The finale was both rubbish and great in my eyes. Great because it ended the show so well, but rubbish because it favoured the emotional over the comedic.

South Park - A show that really grew up with my tastes. When it just started, it was exactly the kind of toilet humour rubbish I wanted. Then it became more and more clever, political, and on topic about everything. Hardly recognisable now from its roots.

And that's how to make a short list annoyingly longer than most of the long lists.

I'm totally stunned that Barney Miller didn't generate enough interest for the 2nd season to be released.
Also that WKRP didn't generate enough interest to get the rights to the correct music, and for more seasons.
