So I bought a Fire stick. Not because I needed one. Not even sure I wanted one. Actually, the only reason I bought it was because it was 15 bucks for Prime Day...I wasn't even sure what it did, but it was just 15 bucks. Yay Consumerism!

So here's the question. Does it just stay on all the time?

It will shut off after some time. If you turn on CEC on both the tv and the Firestick, then turning on either one will then turn on the other. If you tv has USB ports on it, they can power the Firestick, but you'll probably get a notice saying that the power isn't adequate.

CEC will also let you (depending on the tv) control the Firestick with the tv remote.

Take some penicillin twice a day for a week and it should clear up.
