    Yes, even though most artificial sweeteners are zero-calorie, they affect blood sugar and insulin in different ways. Stevia and monk fruit extract are ideal, but you're not going to find them in any restaurant or bar. Aspartame in diet Coke et al may be bad for my health otherwise, but it's keto-friendly. I drink a fair amount of whiskey-diets when I go out.

    I've heard of Stevia (thanks to "Breaking Bad") but only tried it once - I bought some diet cream soda with stevia in it and it was horrid. Granted it could have been the brand of soda, and would taste awful with any artificial sweetener.

    Yeah, it's not great. Bitter after-taste and such.

    so it's not just the soda brand or my taste buds being askew. That ditzy dame in breaking bad seemed to like it!
    Side note she is such a cutey-pie but not as cute as Jessie's heroin addict girlfriend.
