Where in the bible is heaven described?
The New Testament.
I have. There heaven held to by Christian doctrine is not described.
Nor is the concept of Hell that most all Christians cling to.
Agreed. Total conspiracy! And 43 was responsible for 9-11 too!
Arguing in bad faith. As you are an atheist any argument you make should not be based on the Bible.
[quote="Tuckerfan, post: 2740167, member: 1902"ong, you've got nothing to fear. Even better, all of the works he cites, are in the public domain, so you can check to see if he's right. So, what do you say, Dayton, my man? Are you ready to give it all that you can? BTW, if you're worried that I might instead ship you "teh ghey," you can always find the work on good ol' Google Books for free. So, what's it going to be?[/quote]
What is teh ghey Tuckerfan? Is that a new novel?
Might be more intriguing than the one that you mention. So go ahead and send me it instead.
Garamet has actually come after my asshole with a Bowie knife dipped in Drano, and I still have less butt-hurt over her than the whiny little bitches in this thread.
What's bad faith about that argument? The Old Testament itself mentions all those people with different religions which the Israelis were fighting, and we know Egyptian civilization was making iron artifacts prior to 3,000 BC, and carvings in Egypt date back to 15,000 BC. You can bet they weren't talking about Moses.
Also, I'm not an atheist.
Anyone who doesn't believe exactly what Dayton believes is a heretical non-believer in his eyes.
I wouldn't go that far. I'm prepared to accept marginally different views on New Testament teachings. Good faith ones.
No you aren't. At least, there's no evidence of you considering other points of view.
^Of course there isn't. I don't advertise my willingness to do so.
To do so you open yourself to attack with people calling your open mindedness a sign of "doubts" about your position.
They don't realize that all it does is expose their own inadequacies.
And it amuses me.
How is good faith defined in this context?
A legitimate effort at understanding without trying to fulfill a predetermined outcome.
Now that is very difficult to define I'll grant you that.
Who hasn't she come after at one point after all this time? I'm sure she's managed to piss off everyone at least twice in the past 12 years.
But I'd rather have her around than 100 gtardos.
Which doctrine? Rather than a hack copy and paste job, I'll just share this link, the first hit on google.
But, I'm not so concerned with what it looks like so much as what we'll be doing. I believe a good illustration of that is found in Revelation 5:11-14.
They keep him around to make fun of him. He's the only one left.
The "only" what? Propaganda minister? We should be so lucky...
She hasn't come after me. It's another list I didn't make
"Do we agree with Dayton? Yes? Then we can discuss the Bible. No? Then it's not a good faith argument."
That's your role, actually.
Wait, this sin't the Gourmet Quote Thread?!?
Not until you make it such. This thread can be whatever you want it to be.
More accurately, it's a Dayton fail thread.
You like redheads. That gives you a lifetime pass.
Post recipes. Let's see how long we can keep this going.
