Elder Bush Is Official Witness at Gay Wedding
George HW attended marriage of two friends in Maine
Why would this be a surprise Garamet?
President George H.W. Bush was never big on social conservatism. He always seemed to be more libertarian in that aspect than anything.
And I don't recall social conservatives ever lauding George H.W. Bush as their hero or icon.
She's in desperation mode, clearly.
Edit- Nevermind, too silly, even for me.
Garamet posted this without any snarky comments and with a factual title, I think you are just getting defensive Dayton since you know that socially you're on the side that's dying out on this issue.
The fact it isn't that surprising is what makes a story like this cool. It shows that even among conservatives there is a growing acceptance and support of gay people.
Socially the war is won, and full equal rights are an inevitability.
This article has a pic of him signing the document.
*Adds another reason to his list of 'Why George Bush, Sr., is still pretty damned classy.'
That was nice
What's ridiculous is that this is news at all.
Dude went to a friend's wedding. So what?
Its good that gay marriage is fully legalized and there aren't still people fighting against it isn't it.
I think so, which is why I voted for it.
I think it's a good law that gives gays what they wanted and protected religious freedom to choose at the same time.
But, I can't help but think the war will only truly be won when stuff like this isn't news anymore.
Yes, but the way to win the war is to report such news as long as it still is news.
I didn't say they should stop.
I said it's ridiculous that it is still news.
I can't speak to the motivations for either member.
A healthy hatred of homosexuals is a litmus test for GOP membership. Filthy RINO.
To be fair, this is a bigger story than the subject at hand.
Someone'll always bring some snark to a thread Garamet is involved in.
Snark? That was a compliment.
Dude used to be President. Pretty much anything he gets up to is news.
Then there are the socks. Don't forget the socks.
Yup. It was news a couple months ago when he shaved his head for cancer.
Bush Sr. has class. While admirable, I fail to see how that is newsworthy.
Separate names with a comma.
