Jeez. It already routinely hogs more than half the RAM on my work desktop and grinds everything to a halt. Now it wants more?

On one hand, I have 8GB of RAM on my system, so this sucks. On the other hand, I appreciate that Google's trying to clean up Intel and AMD's mess by protecting its users more thoroughly. I guess we'll just have to see the end results when it's released.

I really don't see Chrome affecting the way my laptop runs. But then again I don't really use my laptop for much other than surfing and the occasional Photoshop, spreadsheet, etc.

One of the news websites that I frequent, however kicks the processor from around 8-10% usage to 80% or more. It's a poorly designed and will automatically refresh every minute as well. So if you're scrolling to read articles, it will refresh and kick you back to the to of the site.

I just switched to Firefox. Fast as hell. Chrome has really taken a step backwards.
