Guy finds out that his wife is cheating on him with another man, so he shoots her, two of their three kids, then goes and shoots the guy his wife was screwing and that guy's wife. You know, as you do.

okay, let me get this right: it's okay to kill people cheating on you, but what do children have to do with it? Why kill them too? Fuck this clown - I wish he would have done a "suicide by cop" but before he actually killed anybody of course.

Side note I used to live right near 67th & Osborn! And my wife just left Glendale AZ (where the action started at 39th & Northern) about a week ago where she was visiting some family members.

So it's "okay to kill people cheating on you"? You'll have to explain that.

Anyway, God told him it was okay, so...

He probably felt that the kids were tainted by what their mother had done.

sure I'll explain: Personally I don't feel it's okay to kill people cheating on you (enjoying my freedom and disliking prison and all that) I can understand that "crimes of passion" do indeed occur and can at times be considered mitigating circumstances. One of my supervisors (named Jerry) in the Air Force came home unexpectedly and the man his wife was having an affair with answered the door in his underwear. Jerry kicked him in the balls with his steel toed boots then kicked & stomped his incapacitated body into a bloody broken mess. Yada yada yada the circumstances of "snapping" from the shock of his wife messing around kept Jerry from getting charged with aggravated assault and whatnot.

But at no point would it make sense for Jerry to attack lover boy's family, who had nothing to do with the sexual indiscretion.

I agree. Wouldn't kicking the guy in the balls pretty thoroughly have satisfied any "dishonor"? And if the offended husband wasn't tough enough to do it himself he could've brought along a friend or two to give him a hand.

Multiple murders of children? I don't care what the provocation was give this guy the death penalty.

Nope, it's actually worse than that.

If you follow the link in the OP, you'll find that they've updated the story with new details. It ain't pretty.

Oh I agree! But some people don't think rationally when suddenly confronted with another man boning their wife. Sometimes the instinctive part of our primate brains can override our knowledge of modern legal systems. Add firearms into the mix and hilarity ensues more often than not.

Will he ever find true love again?

Only in the prison shower. :diacanu:

I get the whole "Bitch cheated on me, I'll show her" angle. But if you're gonna go that way, save the last bullet for yourself. Because what happens next isn't worth sticking around for.

No, no, no... See, people get the whole murder/suicide thing in the wrong order. If you're going to go through with a murder/suicide, kill yourself FIRST. Then we'll see about the other party.

As for the topic at hand: :(

I can't ever imagine a case where I'd actually want to hurt my son.

Except she may not have. There's not been anything which shows that she was having an affair. He didn't walk in on her screwing another guy, he just thought that, for whatever reason.
I'm sure he thinks that God will protect him, since he was following God's will.

Whether he was correct or not doesn't make much difference. She could've been fucking the entire Chicago Bears starting lineup and it wouldn't justify it.
He'll soon be wondering "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

I would say your meaning was clear that people lose their minds due to love. I figure his insanity rationalized his selfishness that he knew someone else would raise his kids so he used a religious reason to keep that from happening. To kill your wife because she cheated shows he felt his family was his possession and he would kill them all to keep someone else from having them.

I would say religion was just an excuse that rationalized his sick sense of possession of people. It does not make it right, or religion wrong. It is just some people are fucked in the head. It probably has more to do with how some people are raised to feel they own a loved one.

Yeah, but if I'm going to get whacked because of adultery, I'd at least like to have gotten some strange out of it. YMMV.
I doubt if he will. After all, OJ Simpson told the parole board, "I've never hurt anyone." I imagine he'll just double down on his religion.

Probably some of the bullshit "kill the kids on the offchance they aren't actually mine" alpha male stuff. I'm with Elwood, unless the kid is Damien, if you have it in your head to kill a child, off yourself first.
