NetFlix is raising their prices again, the plan I use is going from $14 to $16.

I'm going to act irrationally and threaten NetFlix by taking my business elsewhere. That should work, right? Isn't that how people act in stores and shit?

Netflix had 700 original shows in 2018? You'd think they would run out of ideas. I do know that about 90 percent of their original movies involve a post-apocalyptic world with no explanation as to what mysterious occurrence brought about the apocalypse.

Bad timing. Netflix is doing this right when major studios are pulling away from them and many media companies want their own streaming service. It's all part of the effort to turn the internet into cable television.

I have 3 streaming services currently (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and HBO Now) and I think I need to cut back. I get Amazon Prime Video just for having Amazon Prime, so that one's probably not going away...

Perfect timing for this thread! I have a question about ESPN+ (I think that's the name) streaming? Pay-per-view? service. Let me preach on it:
the UFC lost their FOX Sports contract and will now be on ESPN starting with the 19 January Dillashaw -Cejudo event. The early prelims are on ESPN+. The undercard is on regular ESPN (channel 37 in my location on Comcast) but the main card is on ESPN+. So does this mean the main card will be on ESPN+ streaming and on the regular ESPN TV channel for those who view shows that way? I'm not a "sports" fan so I don't want ESPN+ if it's a pay service. If I just want to see this particular fight is there also a pay-per-view situation? I knew there would be some speed bumps when the UFC went from Fox to ESPN. BTW the event is UFC Fight Night 143 not UFC 143 - they are two separate things. In the second link they call it UFC 143 right after they call the event by it's real name UFC Fight Night 143. Regardless UFC Fight Night used to be all free, but UFC 227,228,229,etc. (for example) had a free undercard and a PPV main card. Now UFC Fight Night isn't all free..........I think.

BTW hilarious but pathetic incident a few weeks back: I ordered UFC 232 Jones vs. Gustafsson on PPV through Comcast/Xfinity. I had finally figured out how to order PPV a few fights ago and had no problems, so why not? But now the story takes an evil turn. Somehow I dorked it up and ordered the Spanish version. So I said "fuck it, this fight means a lot so I'll order the English version too!" So I return to PPV screen and realize they don't tell you what you just ordered - you know like something pops up and says "already ordered this program". The English & Spanish are color coded but you can't really tell which version is actually selected/highlighted. I didn't write down which color was which when I selected the show because I didn't think I would need to! :brood: So I highlighted and selected what I thought was the English version but.....wait for it.....SPANISH! :shakefist:
Bottom line - I may have paid twice for the same event and still couldn't get the commentary in English! :shakefist: Granted it's not like I can't figure out what's going on but Joe Rogan & Domick Cruz were in the booth that night, and I couldn't hear their always insightful commentary. :(
I SUCK AT TECHNOLOGY! There, I said it! Nothing......nothing is intuitive for me, and that includes the "self scanner" at the grocery store. :brood:

Here are links! I'm lost in the sauce here. :(

I use NetFlix, Amazon, CBS All Access (kept/keep forgetting to cancel it, but Discovery is back on tomorrow), Vudu, YouTube Premium, along with HBO, Cinemax(?), Show Time. The last three I use from my sister's Uverse account, I let her use Amazon, NetFlix, and Vudu.

Netflix's biggest crime is cancelling the Marvel shows.

IIRC, that might've been related to the Disney deal, cuz I know Disney is planning to pull content and launch it's own site in the near future....?

I guess I'll try to find some other way to pirate OitNB and Anne With an E, then
