Veteran actor Jack Donner has died. Best known among Star Trek fans for his role as "Sub-Commander Tal" in the classic TOS Episode "The Enterprise Incident", which he reprised in the "Starship Excelsior" audio fan production's 50th anniversary tribute episode "Tomorrow's Enterprise". Donner was also a respected acting coach. He was the long-time companion of Wordforge member Garamet. Jack Donner was 90.

Thanks, everyone. I've been putting some of my thoughts on FB (in between the dozens of things you have to do when someone dies) and may repost them here sometime soon.

He was my buddy. We had 22 years together, which is more than most people can say. He was a good man. Bit of a curmudgeon at times, but who isn't? I keep walking into the next room thinking "I should tell him about such-and-such." Still getting used to the fact that he's not there.

Out of curiosity why does neither Donner's or garamets (under her real name) entry in Wikipedia or the Internet Movie Database list the other as a long time partner? Personal entries are often pretty good about this. Listing not only spouses but long time unmarried significant others.

Memory Alpha, and MeTV's website had his death notice up fast.
Aron Eisenberg's face popped up during DS9's commercials on the channel, I didn't think to keep my eyeballs glued during TOS's commercials, but I bet Jack popped up.
    Did anyone catch it?

    No, it doesn't matter.

But the reason is probably the simple fact that it's not really PUBLIC knowledge that can be sourced and cited, and therefore it's not the kind of fact that Wikipedia is interested in having in their articles.

^And also as fodder for trolls. It's one thing when they troll me, but AFAIWC, Jack was sacrosanct. He never participated in message boards and did not deserve to be a target just because certain people had a bug up their ass about me.

I do take some amusement from the fact that Wikipedia still lists Margaret Markov as his wife, considering they were divorced in 1973. :jayzus:

Wikipedia is only as good as its contributors, and I had to notify them of his passing. They seemed to have missed it, while numerous other sources were on the ball.

Anyway, to those who actually care and aren't just here to ask stupid questions, I'm coping, thank you, and I appreciate your love and support. But even though he was ill for a long time, the last few days happened precipitously, and there's just so much to do in the aftermath.

    I'll revisit soon, promise.

I'm only just hearing about this now, by you have my condolences as well.

I live in driving distance of where you are, so if you need any help for anything requiring a car (as much as a tiny MINI cooper can be of help! ;) ), let me know!
