The series pretty much ended with the third film. I'll admit I haven't watched it in years, probably when it came out on DVD/VHS, but I remember it being kind of crappy. Well any way the fourth is being filmed now.

    Here's the link.

Or maybe not, I'm in a bar in my fourth IPA. So reading is not strong suit at this time.

I once read a script of a whole different second and third movie that I think would have been better than what we got in the last two movies. In those scripts Neo is faced with the choice of actually having to destroy the Matrix which would kill all the humans still in it and the machines.

The first movie was fantastic but I would have changed the ending from Neo flying away to Neo simply walking into the crowd like when he was in the training program with Morpheus. IIRC they ended that way because the reality is they weren't planning on the next two movies. Even though they claim they were planning more movies.

I can't see how they can do a 4th movie and have it make any type of sense.

And Reeves looks like John Wick? Are they going to say John Wick was just another iteration of the Matrix?

    That would actually be cool.

I've been doing some work near where they're filming. It's in an industrial part of the Bay Area where, apparently, many movies are filmed. I saw the rigging they had set up to "fly" people in harnesses.

As far as I can see, there's only one little bit of business that needs to be tied up for this mythology, and it's as follows...

Morpheus- *Walks out and looks at the audience* *Holds out a red pill* See this? It doesn't mean hate women. If you think that, you're not allowed to be fans of our movies anymore. Get the fuck out of here. Go ahead, and ask for your money back, we don't want it. And sell your DVDs, we don't even want you to have those.

That's it. That should be Matrix 4.

I'd laugh so hard, I'd break my ribs.

Neo and Trinity die at the end of Matrix 3. So unless we are watching rebooted versions of them eons later (and older) I don’t get it.

There have been a couple of claims about what the film will be: It's a hard/soft reboot or it's a bit of a side-story to the original films.

I'm all aboard the Keanuverse train (where all Keanu movies are actually him running through some Matrix type program).

The boring option is that one of the release dates will move a bit. Imagine that as a box office event though if they don't. Going up against each other, people publicly debating which one to see first.

Then you sit down to your Keanu film of choice, get the appropriate opening credits and then...chaos as you initially think you have sat down in the wrong theater, then a gradual shocked realization the screen is referencing the other franchise because there is only one movie.

Each studio shares the production cost, and gets to be part of the biggest box office event of the year. Stick a handful of unique scenes in each version showing things from a slightly different perspective and a non-insignificant portion of the audience will go back to see the other.

The first one was very good, but the sequels were very bad. A fourth movie sounds like a terrible idea.

There was a video game back in the day, Max Payne I think it was, that introduced 'bullet time' to gaming and was a very dark, noir sort of story. I also remember people on the web saying that the game played very much like a person being inside the Matrix. Then, when I watched the first John Wick movie, it was so over the top that the whole "It's the Matrix" thing occurred to me again. The second JW movie had even more moments like that.

So, I like the idea as well.

What if the 'John Wick' persona was a machine trick to keep 'The One' so mentally occupied, engaged, and distracted that he never got around to figuring out he was living in the Matrix itself?

There's some definite crossover material here. What would have been neat is if Trinity showed up at the beginning of the next John Wick installment, and it suddenly broke away to the title credits which were something like: "John Wick... The Matrix has you"

It is not terribly hard within the philosophy of the movies to simply just put the first three movies within a simulation and nullify their climax to bring about a fourth movie. There is nothing that says there has to be a single matrix.

It could be done well..........probably in some other version of our matrix where hollywood wasn't such a vapid and useless place.

I'm not sure what to make of this, but it looks interesting. Let's hope it's better than Matrix Revolutions.

The into looks like GTA5, but that could be because I watched the trailer on my phone.

    NPH!

Looks like Neo decided to go back into the Matrix, and it's having dreams about the "real" world and that he's somewhat aware of what the Matrix is. And he has to take the blue pills to stay there. Could be that he changed the Matrix to where people can choose where to be. Trinity could be his own creation, and he may have brought her back subconsciously. He be awakening back due to the Matrix taking control again, the first three movies indicated that his Matrix wasn't the first, and could have gone through several iterations before he was the "One".

No, I am pretty much aware the image for the matrix was inspired by the first episode of SM with sailor mercury in it when a monochrome monitor attacked her and tried to suck her into it. Why else would the matrix look like it exists in a VAX dumbterminal?
