I want to be interested in this, I really do want to, but this just doesn't grab me. The tone of the movie feels all wrong (based on the trailer).

Looks like "Dream Warriors", to me.
They're never gonna actually remake "Dream Warriors", so I'll accept this as a substitute.

Yes! Nothing about that feels like New Mutants.

I thought it summoned up the "Demon Bear" storyline from early New Mutants issues quite nicely. :clyde:

    But surely not the tone?

Hard to tell from that. But I sure got the overall impression.

It has apparently scared off its director.

That looks like a cool new type of story. I think I am in on this one and it looks exciting. I especially like the use of The wall remix as I always thought that had a place in some darker movies.

I would say good. The genre needs to stop going all X-men heroic and good. It really does a lot better when it explores things in a less defined good vs evil manner. This way you actually see character motivations rather than that character is supposed to be on the good side so we have to make them good, or that character is evil so we just make them evil.

Totally with you there in general. Only New Mutants has an established brand -- which is not heroic pure goodness, btw --, and this seems wrong for that. If you're going to differentiate different sub-brands, might as well use established names for recognizable concepts and new ones for new ones. It's no huge matter either way; just surprising. I wouldn't call a play about a murderous Scottish King "Hamlet" if I didn't have to.

Scott Derrickson has left Dr Strange 2 over creative differences.

When did you move to Hawaii? Maine is 3 hours ahead of PST, so that’d be 9 AM.

Dicky just pegged Morbius for a nocturnal trailer because vampire, which is profiling and he should be ashamed.

Another leaked Morbius pic that confirms the Spidey thing.
    ..kinda?

The graffiti says "murderer", which ties into Spidey being framed in "Far From Home",...BUT, it's the Sam Raimi Spider-Man from the Playstation game.
    So...Sony's being kinda sneaky.
