Are Americans really going to have to watch Trump get dragged from the Oval Office?

Between the Mueller investigation and the latest allegations from Stormy Daniels, it's only a matter of time.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock...

I've always rolled my eyes at people who said he'd get sick of how hard the job is, and quit.
You're gonna have to pull him off the pillars of the White House leaving claw marks on the marble.
This is a guy that despises "losers", and would rather die than be one.
And he'd rather strangle your babies than die!
Resigning from the presidency is HISTORY BOOK LEVEL loser!
    His ego can't take it.
He's gonna have to be arrested or executed.
I've always known this, and have been flabberghasted by people that don't get it.

Meh...Nixon knew he was about to get removed from office. He fought it every step of the way until finally there was no one left to sacrifice, no more appeals to make and no more members of Congress left willing to stick their neck out for him.

I am actually hoping for dragged from the office if I have a choice. Resigning would be so anti climatic. There could be a guillotine and count de money and his children's heads on spikes with melania in a cage doing the go go nude before we ship her back to whatever shitty little country she came from.

At this point I can't decide whether I would prefer to see Trump implicated in something that sees him resign or be impeached, or sit a full term and be beaten in 2020.

The schadenfreude of him being impeached would be delicious, but I know lots of Americans who are terrified of the idea of a President Pence. At the same time Pence would almost certainly be far better from an international outsiders perspective.

Trump serving a full term and being defeated in 2020 though? Now that would be amazing to watch. Trump still being in office but spending months sulking about being voted out. Getting to see him become snubbed on the world stage as totally irrelevant.

You know how in Yu-Gi-Oh where Seto Kaiba's dad jumps out the window when he gets beaten at his own game?

That's pretty much gonna be Trump at the end of this. :diacanu:

At this point, we're almost a year an a half into his regime term anyway. An imprachment and trial would take damn near up to 2020 to complete anyway.

I'm not particular how he goes away, just that he is OUT.

It would be best to see him voted out in '20, rather than martyred by the deep state, the "establishment," a new Dem-led Congress, or whatever else.

By the way, aren't the same people insisting the President Trump will be forced out of office pretty much the same ones that predicted President Bush and VP Cheney would be imprisoned for war crimes? Still waiting on that one aren't they?

I never did, and I don't know anyone that did.
I remember saying in a sane world they would be.
But a sane world wouldn't have elected those clowns, invented Islam, and let 9/11 happen either.

post # 3 about General McCaffrey makes me think of the last part of "A Few Good Men" when Colonel Jessup goes down in flames.

in his mind he's the king. he will therefore never abdicate. he'll probably fire mueller when he comes too close and thus commit political suicide - but he will not leave on his own.

ayatollah pence is certainly not ideal but at least he's mentally stable.

Maybe he'll resign "due to health reasons".

    He is really old.

Health reasons? No, no.... He's 6'3, 239lbs and the fittest president in all of history. :borg:

I could see him while claiming America is now officially Great Again and being president is so easy that it's boring, so he's leaving to go find other challenges.

LOL he's what, 71? That's no age nowadays especially with the kind of medical attention he gets. The only thing I dare say he has is a form of dementia. But Alzheimer's and the other variants take years and years to become impeding.

Reagan was a gibbering cartoon character by the end of his second term, and his cronies kept covering for him to the bitter end.
A president pretty much has to lose the ability to speak English, AND bowel control before he's declared incompetent.
And even then, Republicans would be bitter about having to do it.

"Mentally stable" is still questionable with his fear of women and all that, but I have more confidence in him not getting us nuked, so I'll settle for that for a couple of years.

assuming he didn't do something deadly to try and save himself....IF the Democrats can somehow manage a Senate majority in November (to put a stop to the insane nominations) then I think I'd probably enjoy seeing him absolutely pounded at the ballot box rather than impeached and removed simply because the deplorables need to see their bullshit soundly rebuked by sane voters, rather than being gifted the chance to hold onto the "Trump as martyr to the deep state" narrative you know they would wallow in if he were removed.

to be clear, I'm all for impeachment articles being files a year or so from now, but there's no way to get 67 votes for removal. Impeaching him is basically just putting his bullshit in the formal record.

I can imagine a scene where he's discussing just that because he thinks he'll be able to appoint Ivanka as his replacement and being pissed off for a week when someone has to tell him it doesn't work that way.

I don't think he's afraid of women. He's just such a bigot that he thinks being alone with a women not his wife is infidelity.

He's the kind of guy I'd love to see fall over an affair with a cheap porn star. Nobody expects anything better from Trump but Pence is such a sanctimonious asshole... boy would I enjoy that.

As for being nuked. Well I don't know about that. But we survived Bush the Lesser who definitely had a apocalyptic streak. It's much more worrying that Pence is a creationist, denies climate change and hates renewable energy. Doesn't bode well for science and the environment. But both would probably survive the half term he'd have.

I am still hoping Mueller wraps this up and issues his report by about September or October. That way there would be a good month or two for the bad news to sink in and Republicans to make excuses for his criminality right before voters cream them at the polls.
