Jesus, wait until they arm this thing. The enemy thought the Apache was a nightmare!

Weird thought: this thing is big enough that a fairly lightweight retractable artillery piece could be mounted on it, and then used to fire smart artillery shells on an adversary. Kinda like a miniaturized AC-130. They'd be able to carry a lot of rounds, they'd be nearly as effective as missiles, and they'd cost a lot less. (A little googling shows that the Army has had this idea before, but maybe it's time for a comeback...)

Airwolf was a ripoff of Blue Thunder, and Blue Thunder was a science-fiction warning about the encroaching militarized police state.

They made a toy of Blue Thunder.
I think Americans missed the point.

    Aaaanyhooo!

We do not miss the point! We never miss the point!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play with my Rambo action figures. Rambo is my favorite secret agent of pro-war American foreign policy...

    ;)

And, yes, I'm amused how the movie version of Blue Thunder was a warning against militarization of the police, while the TV show was a celebration of it.

You're too old school in thought. Think about cannisters popping out beehive-networked, AI-controlled drone swarms, and then we're talking modern warfare.

It is a wicked cool machine, though.
