"they" say that small business is the backbone of the American economy but only in iconic, epically large corporations do they reward CEO's for failure. It's kind of like "fuck up & move up" in the military. Once you are past 20 years in all they can do is give you a job with less responsibility where you can't (in theory) cause any more damage. It seems to me (not a business expert) that there is no downside in the US to bringing a corporation to it's knees. In Japan they have people doing their Rocky The Flying Squirrel imitations from their offices over not meeting quarterly production goals.
